A Sobering Second Thought About Reversing The Aging Process -
When this world is all that we are familiar with it only makes sense that, we would want to extend our time here for as long as possible. The axiom that states – we all want to go to heaven but none of us wants to die first – is more truthful than the author ever gave a second thought to. It is precisely why we do not want to die that the science of life extension has taken on new importance and anti aging methods and techniques are a multibillion dollar business. Sanjay Gupta from CNN medical stated we Do not want to live forever.
Gupta believes what we really want is an exceptional life rather than eternal or immortal life. He may have a point. Gupta, in his role of senior medical reporter at CNN spoke with three anti aging experts and life extension authorities and he found there were three general principles that each expert thought was vital to our life being extended in a natural manner and inspiring society to live life remarkably and these were –
• Physical weight training
• Proper balanced nutrition
• Positive attitude and some meaning to our life
Nearly anyone can outlive most others with a bit of good fortune and in the sphere of making our own luck, assuming a more responsible role in doing the necessary things to turn back the clock or at least slow it down. We need to devise a plan for life extension, something achievable, pragmatic, yet enjoyable to hold our interest. Our “lifestyle fitness program” must be something we can take seriously. Should the predictions come to fruition regarding life extension, we will be much further ahead of the pack and be able to benefit from some of the science.
An alarming study verifies that the modern inclination toward poor health and obese and out of shape individuals is quickly moving toward the less fortunate and educationally deprived factions of our society. This should be significant to all of us if not for the obvious apprehension regarding the health of the nation overall, than for the over taxed health care system and financial burden coming our way as junior seniors become elder seniors.
If this tendency continues unabated, within three to five years, the middle and upper classes of society will be staring at immense tax amplification from government in order to pay for the predicament. As frightening as this looming scenario is, it does not have to be. Anybody that is able to afford a decent food budget in the least, can sustain themselves and their family in a healthy manner and stay in shape while doing so by exercising.
The problem – in part caused by the fitness industry itself – is the falsehood that high priced food supplementation and organic foods only, are a requirement in order to remain healthy and fit. Both are important though neither is compulsory.
What are critical to good health are the kinds of food we eat and in what combination we consume them. This will make a huge difference. This along with a calorie reduced diet, exercise regimen and proper outlook on life. Science and medicine have each boasted about dramatic results achieved in research lately and this is no doubt fantastic news for the future. For right now, we need to achieve that remarkable life discussed earlier so we can perhaps live long enough to benefit from it.
