On realage.com, there is a tool known as cholesterol assessment that will help you to understand the risk of having high cholesterol. First of all, it should be noted that it is really dangerous as it increases the risk of heart diseases.

People need to know is what leads to high cholesterol and what can be done to reduce the cholesterol levels. Diets have a crucial role in the process of lowering cholesterol levels.

The Five best foods that should be consumed to reduce Cholesterol levels are:

1.	Oatmeal
2.	Omega 3 Fatty Acids – Fish
3.	Walnuts
4.	Oliver Oil
5.	Margarine

- High Fiber Foods like Oat Bran and Oatmeal

In oatmeal, there is soluble fiber, which can easily lower the intensity of low-density lipoprotein {LDL} or so called ‘bad’ cholesterol. It should also be noted that soluble fiber can be found in pears, barley, prunes, beans and kidney beans.

Consuming 10 grams of soluble fiber can significantly reduce the absorption of cholesterol, into an individual’s bloodstream, therefore, lowering LDL cholesterol. The consumption of one and half-cup of cooked oatmeal provides 6 grams of fiber. The consumption of fruits like able will increase the amount of fiber by 4 grams.

-	Omega-3 Fatty Acids – Fish

Fish is known to have a high volume of omega-3 fatty acid, which is good for the heart. It can lower the blood pressure and therefore, decreases the potential risk of having additional blood clots.

For people who have already experienced a heart attack – the consumption of fish oil can lower the potential risk of an instant death.

Doctors do generally recommend consuming two servings of fish per week.
The fish with the highest amount of omega-3 fatty acid is found in:

1.	Mackerel
2.	Lake trout
3.	Herring
4.	Sardines
5.	Albacore tuna
6.	Salmon
7.	Halibut

In addition, while cooking fish people should avoid putting in unhealthy fats. For those who do not like fish can get omega-3 fatty acids from canola and flaxseed oil.

-	Almonds, Walnuts as well as other types of nuts

Nuts help to decrease blood cholesterol. The density of polyunsaturated fatty acids in almonds and walnuts assures that blood vessels are healthy. The Food and Drug administration recommends the consumption of 42.5 grams of nuts per day. This includes all types of nuts, pistachio nuts, hazelnuts, pecans, pine nuts, almonds and walnuts, as they have properties, which decrease the risk of heart diseases.

Yet, the nuts shouldn’t be coated with sugar or salted –

Nuts are also rich in calories so one handful should be enough. Consuming too many nuts can lead to weight gaining.

-	Olive oil

There is strong evidence that olive oil, have special properties, which help to reduce ‘bad’ cholesterol, but it leaves ‘good’ cholesterol.

According to the Food and Drug Administration, two tablespoons of olive oil added to your diet will spur heart-healthy advantageous. It is common to add olive oil to vegetables, marinade, or even diets. For example, while basting meat; olive oil can be used instead of butter. However, do note that olive oil has a high amount of calories so do not consume too much, or else you will gain weight.

The best type of olive oil is the extra-virgin olive oil which is less processed and contains more heart-healthy antioxidants. It also has stronger cholesterol-reduction effects.

-	For Example Margarine – Food with plant sterols/stanols

There some foods that have this substance found in plants sterols and stanols which inhibits the absorption of cholesterols.

For instance, orange juice, margarines and yogurt drinks having added plant sterols can lower LDL cholesterol with above 10 percent. Daily at least 2 grams of plant sterols should be consumed, so a fortified orange juice with plant sterols a day would be an ideal power drink.

Plant sterols as well as stanols do not affect good cholesterol as well as triglycerides.

Lesson learnt
People should change both diet and lifestyle. It is essential to c food with high sources of high-density lipoprotein/ good cholesterol.

Typical antioxidants and dark chocolate are found in raw cacao. Consuming this source of fresh chocolate source of antioxidant contains:

1.	Oligomeric Procynanidins
2.	Resveratrol
3.	Polyphenols
4.	Catechin
5.	Epicatechin
6.	Vitamin C
7.	Omega 6 fatty acids – if heated it will turn into rancid and become a source of inflammation
8.	Phenethylamine – PEA a the neurotransimitter associated to love
9. Serotonin
10.	Tryptophan – A amino acid which people who consume cooked food usually lack.

Typical chocolate bars have some rather negative attirubtes such as causing diabetes, weight gain and cavities. These side-effects are commonly linked with the fillers used in the mixture of dark chocolate like sugar and diary. On the other hand, when chocolate is in its initial form (raw cocao beans, nibs and beans) the health benefits are weight loss ( coumarin and chromium initiate this effect), avoids cavities (Theobromine eliminates streptococci mutans one of the bacteria that produces tooth decay) as well as control blood sugar (done by chromium) which is is positive for diabetics. It should be noted that raw cacao has positive benefits to the the cardiovascular system as well.

One of the best sources of magnesium is cacao, and this is also known to be the mineral that is insufficient in modern diets. Magnesium has several benefits. It enhances peristalsis in the bowels, relaxes muscles and softens the cardiovascular system. In a series of studies, it has been proven that dark chocolate does dissolve plaques that are formed in the arteries. This process does literally help to avoid heart disease and does naturally regulate the blood pressure.

Dark chocolate does still have several health benefits but the intensity of antioxidants like chatechins, epichatehins, procyanidins and resveratrol are much higher in raw chocolate nibs.

Raw chocolate is the highest source of antioxidant amidst food available. In the list of other foods that are rich in antioxidants we have red wine, blueberries, and green tea. There are also spices and herbs such as cinnamon and chaga mushrooms that have a high level of antioxidant as well. Consuming varied type of antioxidants targets specific parts of the body.

Based on a phyto-chemical analysis of typical cacao beans; it is found that raw chocolate might be the most chemically complex food components on the planet. Unfortunately, in the cooking process antioxidants are degraded.

For Longevity in each diet the below component should be present:
1.	Anandamide – a neurotransmitter which activates feeling of ‘bliss’
2.	Serontonin – protects one against stress by inducing good feelings
3.	Dopamine – a neurotransmitter good for pleasure and motivation
4.	MAO Inhibitors – avoids side-effects of dopamine and serotonin
5.	Coumarin – regulates blood, acts as an appetite suppressant and contains anti-tumor properties.
6.	Asparaginase – An enzyme containing anti-leukemia attributes
7.	Ergosterol – a product of Vitamin D
8.	Sitosterol – Reduces LDL cholesterol

The compact intensity of nutrients in raw cacao supports proper functioning of the body. In addition, it is the best source of chromium and magnesium. Most human suffer from magnesium deficiency so raw cacao is an important ingredient to consume.

The list below shows other antioxidants in cacao:

1.	Vitamin A
2.	Vitamin B (1, 2, 3, 5 and 6)
3.	Vitamin C
4.	Magnesium
5.	Vitamin E
6.	Copper
7.	Manganese
8.	Calcium
9.	Zinc
10.	Iron
11.	Sulphur
12.	Phosphorus
13.	Chromium
14.	Omega 6 Fatty Acids
15.	Amino Acids
16.	Saturated Fats
17.	Carbohydrates
18.	Enzymes – such as lipase, catalyse and amylase
19.	Soluble fiber
20.	Phytonutrients

Well known dieticians such as Kerri-Ann Jennings, M.S., R.D., who is the associate Nutrition Editor from the EatingWell Magazine says that herbs and species don’t only add taste to food. In healthy diets, people should reduce sugars, slats and saturated food, but why not add up some spicy & health herbs.

Slowly progress in science research is finding the real benefits of spices and herbs. Apparently, herbs seem to be a strong protective attribute to various alarming diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease and cancer. Professor Bharat Aggarwal, Ph.D., from the University of Texas M.D says that modern science is finally being able to shed light on the reason why people have been using species and herbs for medication for millenniums.

In Aggrawal’s home-country India, there is a low risk of heart disease and cancer. This is associated with their extensive use of spices in various food menus. However, most of the Indians who have moved to a westernized eating pattern have experienced a higher incidence of these very same diseases. Apparently, when people eat less spicy food, they are deprived from the protective attributes provided by the herbs and spices. In other words, this explains why the Indian, who has adopted a westernized diet (defined as being fattier and meatier) is more prone to diseases.

The 8 healthiest herbs and Spices

1.	Chile Peppers – Boost Metabolism

Research has shown that the wanted heat of chilly tend to enhance our metabolism. Components known as capsaicin, chipotle and cayenne provide this fresh aspect of papers. Various research shows that capsaicin actually help the body to burn up calories (boost the metabolic rate). This equally helps the brain to stimulate chemicals to make us less hungry. A recent study found that people who ate hot spicy pepper tomato juice consumed 16 percent less calories. The second compound known as capsinoids, present in milder chile and also in sweet paprika reduces the risk of ulcers. It induces enhanced ability to the cells in the stomach to tackle infections and bacteria. It equally helps the heart to stay tuned by preventing LDL cholesterol from being converted into artery-clogging forms.

2.	Ginger – Help To reveal Upset Stomach / Fight Arthritis

Ginger has since long been observed as a relief to the stomach problem. Yet, Ginger does much more; it helps to reduce nausea and to heal our body after chemotherapy or surgery. A component full of inflammation-fighting properties like gingerols does even reduce the risk of cancer aches of osteoarthritis.

In a study, it was found that if people consumed ginger capsules for 11 days, they experienced 25 percent less muscle pain, after doing exercise.

3.	Cinnamon – Regulates Blood Sugar

Several studies have shown that adding only one to two teaspoons of cinnamon a day reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes. It helps the body to regulate blood sugar.

4.	Turmeric – Inhibit Tumors and Inflammation

Tumeric is used in India as a source to heal wounds. It is commonly used as a paste, tea to alleviate respiratory problems as well as colds. Modern science confirms that turmeric, with its compound curcumin is a proven antioxidant which has several anti-inflammatory abilities. Curcumin is used to relieve pain of injuries, arthritis as well as in dental procedures.

Turmeric, the goldenrod-colored spice, is used in India to help wounds heal (it’s applied as a paste); it’s also made into a tea to relieve colds and respiratory problems. Modern medicine confirms some solid-gold health benefits as well; most are associated with curcumin, a compound in turmeric that has potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Professor Bharat also mentioned that it contains anti-carcinogens properties.

5.	Saffron – Mood Elevator

In traditional Persian Medicine, Saffron was commonly used as a mood lifter, by adding it into tea. A study from Rooxbeh Psychiatric Hospital at Tehran University of Medical Science revealed that saffron help to relieve depression as well as premenstrual syndrome (PMS). In the research, 75 percent of the women who suffered from PMS, experienced a fifty percent improvement in the management of their mood swings and depression after taking saffron.

6. Parsley – Prevents Breast Cancer Cells to grow

A few scientists from University of Missouri found that parsley prevents breast cancer-cell growth. This was found in an animal study where, they were given apigenin (a compound of Parsley) experienced an increase resistance against cancerous tumors.

7. Saga – Treats Sore Throat and Preserve Memory

It is recommended to sip saga tea to treat sore throat and an upset stomach. Other new studies suggested that saga even helped to prevent Alzhiemer’s disease by protecting acetylcholine, which is an important chemical in the brain promoting learning and memory. This was supported by a second study, where it was found that student taking capsule of saga extracts outperformed those who didn’t take in memory test and had an enhanced mood.

8. Rosemary – Improve Mental Focus & fight Bacteria

It was found in a recent study that people who had aromatic rosemary oil in their study room experienced enhanced score on alertness and memory tests. Commonly, rosemary is used to marinade poultry and meats. This herb improves the healthiness of the food being cooked. For instance, in a study released by Kansas State University in March 2010 found that adding rosemary in-ground beef reduced the potential development of heterocyclic amines (HCSs)- which is a cancer-inducing compound found in fried.

A study at Stanford University of California – Santa Barbara found that a potential reason for increasing human longevity is because older men tend to chase younger women – which according to the research increase the longevity survival of the human species.

According to the evolutionary theory, people decease at old age after their reproductive cycle have been completed. According to Cedric Puleston, a doctoral in biological Science at Stanford says that for human, this is usually at the age of 55. However, fatherhood tends to end later for men, and they are faced with shortening mutations, which lead to the end of their reproduction cycle.

According to Puleston, giving birth to babies when you are in your 50s or 60s will not have any personal survival benefit. Yet, it does have an effect to the overall population. If such trend continues the longer reproduction capacity of men will be transmitted to women through their genes, which will have some positive effect on children of either males and females.

In an earlier study published, by Puleston & Micheal Gurven, who are assistant professors of anthropology at UCSB and Shripad Tuljapurkar, who is the Morrison Professor of Population Studies at Stanford, a research on “Why Men Matter: Mating Patterns Drive Evolution of Human Lifespan,” The aim was to clarify that human’s longevity doesn’t stop as soon as the female reproduction cycle ends.

There is something that has been connoted as the “wall of Death” – which literally means living longer than the reproductive years. In the recent 50 years, the question of why species continue to live despite that their reproducing abilities are gone, has been at the epic of scientific controversy.

The evolutionary theory suggested that as reproduction ends, the species will be affected by dangerous mutations that will reduce survival. Nevertheless, in the early hunter-gatherer society, which is a typical representation of early human mating patterns – 30 percent of the population lived beyond the age of 55 – or female lived-on even after their reproductive lifespan had ended.

In today’s society life expectancy is between 75 to 85 years in the developed world, with longevity increasing slowly – even for female following their menopause.

The Grandmother Effect – Grandmother hypothesis

According to Puleston, since 1966, the “grandmother hypothesis” has become the contemporary explanation why humans live beyond the age of 55. The grandmother effect was described by a British Evolutionary Biologist, William Hamilton, with a mathematical formula for the “wall of death.” The underlining idea of the hypothesis is that female improves the potential survival rate of children & grandchildren by simply living long enough to help them – and thereby enhancing their genes. Yet the representation of Hamilton’s mathematical calculation on genetic (grandmother effect) is a very complex description to demonstrate why people live to old age.

New Study – Including Males – Contrary to the Grandmother effect –

A new more complete study was recently released. The demarcation of this new study from previous research on human reproduction is that for the first-time information on males has been included into the picture. This inclusion allowed scientists to finally provide a response to the “wall of death” with an aligned answer to human mortality patterns. Previous study emphasised primarily on women (female survival and fertility rates) which led to incomplete conclusions.

Often, people dislike doing models, including both male and female, due to the high level of complexity. Yet, women and men’s fertility are contingent – the only difficulty is to comprehend the relation between the two. – for us to understand fully patterns of human evolution – reproduction is at the core – it holds answers to how we have evolved and also how we will evolve.

Longevity & Men

The study on both sexes showed that the longer male can reproduce the better is it for survival. Males older than the age of 50 years do commonly mate with younger females. This was usual in early human civilisation as well. According to Puleston, males being fertile at old age help to counteract on damaging cell mutation, for women beyond the menopause stage – this does thereby remove the so called “wall of death.”

This new research demonstrates how old-age male fertility eliminates the ‘wall of death’ that Hamilton stated. It is not necessary to rely on the grandmother effect or equal economic status – mortality will slowly increase as a function of longer male fertility.

In the research, the scientists gathered fertility and longevity information from two hunter-gatherer groups:

1.	Dobe – Kung of Kalahari
2.	Ache of Paraguay (amidst the world’s most segregated population)

Date of Forager-farmer was also included in the study:

1.	Yanomamo of Venezuela and Brazil
2.	Tsimani – Bolivia (indigenous group)

2.	Stop Aging with A Hunter-Gatherer Diet and Lifestyle

Puleston said that these four groups had a lifestyle similar to that of our ancestors. Their living habits are also very similar. In addition, some village farm in Gambia was included as well as a modern group of Canadians to give universal understanding of contemporary to modern society.

In the traditional societies, the gender age gap between partners was 5 to 15 years. Currently, In Europe and the United States the average age gap between partners is two years. It is a general pattern that men are older than women during marriage. The age gap differs from one group to another, but remained true across the populations.

For all the groups involved in the study men were sexually reproductive at a more advanced age in comparison to females. They also had a slower decrease in fertility contrary to female fertility, which ends by menopause.

In all the groups involved, they stopped having more children in their 50s. However, in special cases, high-status males tended to reproduce to the age 70. Mostly, men who lived in societies that favoured polygamy were reproducing in their 70s.

However, old male fertility is equally present in societies that encourage serial monogamy. Men are more likely to remarry, and are fertile at this advanced age. Fertility of elder men has been present in human history as to reflect mortality patterns and increase in longevity.

The “grandmother hypothesis” might be accurate – but to have a more precise explanation male fertility needs to be elucidated. According to Puleston, males reproduce at a later age with younger females have a positive effect on population longevity.

Health is the most important possession all of us carry along. What makes health so important is the fact that your family’s future does deeply depend on your health status. If you are in poor health, you will hardly be able to support your family. It is worth giving a thought. On a flight, you are always instructed by the flight crew to secure your own face with a mask and then try to assist others, when faced with an emergency situation. You are told so because if you fall unconscious, you would be of no help to anybody else around.

The same principle applies to life. It is worthwhile to make sure that you are healthy so that you can be around for many years.

We do understand that tight routines, long hours at work and the many responsibilities of life render healthy living a huge challenge. That is why we have come up with 10 different ways to help you adopt a lifestyle which is healthy. If you really want to, simple practices change your life completely.

1.	Watch the weighing scale - Obesity doesn’t just pile on you in a matter of a day. It is a gradual but sure process which turns your shapely body into an unrecognizable lump of fat. Keep your weight in check.

2.	Choose water over unhealthy drinks – Experts recommend flushing down around eight glasses of water in a day. Water has countless benefits such as no sugars and calories, which is why you should choose it over juices and aerated drinks.

3.	Eat healthy most of the time - If you have followed a healthy diet for as long as six days, then you can indulge in your craving for a day, but within limits. Eating healthy implies consuming loads of veggies and fruits and consuming everything in proper portions. Eat smaller and frequent meals within a day. You can have three proper meals a day and a light snack such as an apple or yoghurt between two meals.

4.	Nourish your heart by working out - Addition of some cardio activities like walking, riding a bicycle, running a small jog, or going for a swim to your normal activities should do the trick.

5.	Build some muscle - This leads to an elevated metabolism, and it is easier to keep off the flab if you have more muscle mass. Strength training such as squatting, lunging, push-ups and pull ups, doing crunches amidst other exercises will strengthen your body.

6.	Go athletic - Participate in a bike race or a marathon. A self-set goal of going a certain distance, or better still, going all the way until the end motivates you immensely – to do even more exercise.

7.	Find a Friend to accompany you - Have one of your friends or family members to adopt the same health pattern as you. The company of a friend makes it easier and encourages and keeps on- going.

8.	Incorporate exercise in your routine. Fit it into the set of daily activities you do as you begin your day, such as bathing, dressing for work. Plan your commitment of exercise to three or four times a week and follow it religiously.

9.	Expect discomfort. No one said exercise would not cause you any pain. A new exercise routine gets along some sore muscles. It gets better as you trudge along.

10.	Bring down the stress levels. Try to count all the nice things you have in your life. Adopt a positive approach, get an extra hour of sleep or just spare some time for yourself, maybe once a week or even better, once a day, to unwind and lie back.

There is a general opinion that elder people lose their thinking and decision capacity, but scientists demonstrated the contrary.

Two studies were conducted by the University of Texas and Texas A&M University on two groups of 50 individuals of in the age range 67-82 years old and 20-36 years-old subjects. The research was intended to reveal differences between intellectual processes between young and elder people, based on observation regarding prospective thinking and decision-making processes.

A series of tests was designed to analyze what exactly the two groups have in mind when projecting an event in the future and deciding the steps to take in order to obtain optimum results.

The research discovered that young humans are rather hasty, while the old ones are thoughtful.

In the first experiment, both groups were asked to give a solution that would bring them immediate gratification. The result showed that the young took the best decisions.

In the second study – the topic was as peculiar as interesting – they were asked to see themselves as astronauts on a mission to Mars and to store oxygen for their mission. The two answer variants offered them two choices: first, prompt, larger gratification on short term, and second – smaller, short term gratification, but with long term increased reward.

In each of the researches, psychologists have found out that the young found the better answer for massive next future positive outcome, while the older figured out ways to increase positive chances over a longer period of time.

This has led to the conclusions that life experience makes people wiser, and that the brain “computational” power does not decrease with age. The conclusion contradicts the bias that, with aging. We lose our mental edge Why? Both categories provided their answers in the same amount of time but with different solutions. More than that, taking into account the end result provided by the subjects, scientists said old people’s answers were better – in general – than the speedy youthful thinking.

So planning – as a process of analyzing future variables and taking optimum solutions – is the thing that makes the difference between the young and the elder.

A normal question arose then: what is the reason for this significant disparity? Psychologists presume the difference comes from a normal aging physiological process: the ventral striatum diminishes its activity in years; this part of the brain, being responsible with habit formation and short term compensation, does no longer perform its activity with age, and lets the individual’s mind be conducted by another region of the brain: the prefrontal cortex, which controls rational and deliberate mental activity and actions.

This, for sure, is the reason for which older people’s minds rely mainly on the things they have learned during their lives. The brain center activity shift from the ventral striatum to the prefrontal cortex has another interesting outcome: the elder are less capable of learning new habits very fast.

Beyond scientific research, one fact is certain: pensioners are wiser and young people should listen to them, because the elder have better solutions for problems that could affect our lives on long term.

People who volunteer to help others rather than for their selves live longer than people who don’t do things for others. This was revealed in a new researched study.

It is also said that people who volunteer for their personal contentment do on average have the same lifespan as those who don’t volunteers at all.

This research is the first to reveal that volunteering can give a meaningful effect on the length of one’s life.

The University of Michigan researchers established that people who volunteer lived on average longer than those who don’t.

Sara Konrath, PhD, said that the research can help to overcome the primary obstacle associated with volunteering which is limited time and lack of payment. – Living longer is an invaluable reward, itself.

The information from the Wisconsin Longitudinal Study was interpreted by the researcher using a random sampling method with the 10,317 respondents in the Wisconsin High School on 1957. It also contained a percentage of 51.6 female with an average lifespan of 69.16 in the year 2008.

In the year 2004 the respondent reported if they had volunteered during the past 10 years and how often they did it. Their reason for volunteering was also recorded.

A consideration was given by the researcher to the subject’s socio-economic standing, physical standing, health threats, marital standing, social support and psychological status.

The number of respondent who were still alive in 2008 was then determined.

It was found that, the non-volunteers deceased four years after; non-volunteers represent 4.3 % of the 2,384 respondents. Similarly, the volunteers who were self-oriented died 4 years later as well.

On the other hand, 1.6 percent of the volunteers who were motivated to help others, outlived the non-volunteers or self-oriented volunteers by 4 years.

The result found is highly important, and remain the same even after verifying different variables.

As Dorrie Aber-Noyek reaches her 104th birthday, she is cherished by the staff at the Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Florida.

The Chef had prepared her favourite dish (chicken Alfredo). The CEO of the hospital Zeff Ross was also present to congratulate Dorrie Aber-Noyek, but at 1 o’clock the party ended as Dorrie had to start working.

Currently, at the age of 104, she does volunteer distribute mails throughout the big memorial hospital. This is something that she has been doing for the last 37 years.

Abey-Noyek says to Jerry Simonson, a CNN photojournalist, that she can ‘slow down’ if she wants’ as she rolls her mail cart along the corridor.

This woman who turned 104 years in February 2011 is in perfect health. She does only have some minor arthritis and imperfection in hearing and vision.

What is her Secret for Long-Life?

Aber-Noyek was questioned about her secret for longevity, as a response, she shrugged her shoulders.

Apparently, it is neither her diet nor her physical activity. As the Alfredo sauce is high in fats and consuming pieces of cakes during the day isn’t considered to be part of a healthy diet. In addition, she has never been a member of any particular gym, but she likes walking.

In the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, a study entitled ‘super agers’ investigated people who had lived to an age of above 95 years and their healthy lifestyle in comparison to those who had already deceased.

The study was led by Dr. Nir Barzilai, who is the director of the Institute for Aging Research at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

The study involved 477 healthy Ashkenazi Jews, aged from 95 to 112 years. The research focused on identifying the health habits that these people undertook in their 70s. The findings revealed that 40 percent of the group was overweight or obese, while 35 percent smoked and were seldom engaged in exercise activities. In other words, most of them were comparable to the general population.

In conclusion, the finding suggests that gene is the main indicator for the long-life of the centenarians.

Studies conducted by Dr. Barzilai and other researchers have found that most centenarians have a gene, which has a link with an increased level of HDL (HDL is good cholesterol). In addition, these people also tend to have genes that safeguard them from Alzheimer’s and cardiovascular diseases.

Yet, the study doesn’t say that people should have a poor lifestyle and afterward look forward to a long-life.

Most centenarians have these longevity genes that safeguard them from most of the age-related illnesses. However, most of us do not possess these magical genes so, we better be attentive and listen to what the doctor have to say.

In addition, related studies have shown that centenarians have strong ties and are involved in the community, so they are equally less prone to depression.

For Aber-Noyek, both the nurture and Nature theories seem to apply. She has a good relationship with people in her surrounding, and her mother had lived to the age of 99 years.

Now at the age of 104 years, she is as amazed as everyone else that she has reached such an advance age. But with a good spirit and strong community bounds, she says that “I’m enjoying life,,” “I love people” and “I’m very interested in them. I love to talk to them and ask them questions about themselves.”

CR, which is the abbreviation for calorie restrictions, is an old science, which roots back to the 1930s. There have been several reviews given on how agile and active anti-aging genes can promote our longevity. There are some advocates of CR that claims that calorie restricted diets can increase longevity up to 130 years.

Scientists and researchers of the CALERIE study, or so called Comprehensive Assessment of Long-Term Effects of Reducing Intake of Energy study, revealed some very interesting finding. However, there are no known practitioners of CR that have lived to the age of 130, so are these advocates really reliable? To find the truth, most studies are therefore digging into further depth to understand the effect that a change in lifestyle has on people. For example, if someone changes from unhealthy eating habits to a calorie restricted diet, will he/she live longer?

On a multicenter study that was carried in 2007, remarkable finding was revealed. It was found that a reduced-calorie lifestyle induced several health benefits.

A change in lifestyle practice can bring you long-term luck; if you want to live a long and healthy life.

People are having a longer and healthier life now in developed countries. Some are living a decade longer than their parents, not because aging as been retarded or other factors have changed but simply because people are more conscious about living healthy.

People have longevity, because they get older in a better health condition, said James Vaupel, a writer of a review magazine called Nature, published on 25th of last March. However, some diseases can still happen, like in the past, being actually the same as then, such as heart disease and mental disorders. These maladies get even worse if carried forward to an advanced age.

Improvement health care, depend on efforts of public health as well as advancement of science. This was said by James Vauple too, leading the Center of University of Duke, and teaching periodically at the Planck Institute for Demographic Research and relative studies of Rostock, Germany, and Public Health Institute of Demark.

For the last decade, longevity of people has increased by 2.5 years per decade, or around 6 hours per day. Possibility of death increases with age; the pleasant thing is that after 110 years, the risk of death is flattened. However, the more anxious or concerned news, is that the death risk after 110 years remains at a constant rate of only 50%.

Vaupel said also: ’Children born after 2000 will probably reach 100 years., if things go on being at the same rate as two centuries ago, in regard to increase in human lifespan. In 22nd century, more than 50% of children born today will probably be centenarians, assuming that the pace of longevity continues at a constant rate. Vaupel also added: This possibility raises some questions, until it becomes a reality.

What will these figures mean for public services and social life as well as for economy?

Can death be further delayed, after a certain age, and why do women have longer life, compared to men? On average in 7 aged individuals, six are women and 1 is man.

It may be time to think better of our life and structuring conditions, said Vauper further. If people are going to live beyond 100 years, and feel good in general by 90-95 years, then, they‘ll be able to be involve in work, education and bringing up children. This would introduce radical changes to how society is managed. For life extension, young people could work less, and fewer hours a day, so that the population employed, could have a more flexible working schedule.

The 21st century, was a century of health production, and distribution; time for changing work conditions in the 21st century, and less work production for young people.
