There are legends suggesting that not only one person but several iconic figures in human history have lived beyond a hundred and fifty years. One such legend is the Mr. Li Qing Yun, who was born in 1677 and died in 1933. He was so called herbal expert, tactical consultant, qigong master or simply a Chinese Medicine Physician. According to the belief, he lived during nine emperors of the period of Qing Dynasty and was said to have lived to 256 years.

In the Time Magazine, in May 1933, the secret of why Li was able to live long was explained in an article entitled “Tortoise-Pigeon-Dog”. The key to longevity was defined by four behaviours:

1.	Maintain a quiet heart
2.	Be idle like a tortoise
3.	Move actively like the pigeon
4.	Rest like a Dog

It was believed that Mr. Li has some uncommon habits. He abstained drinking, smoking and had his meals only on particular times. In addition, he was a vegetarian and did often drink wolfberry tea.

In his lifestyle, he did also have a regulated sleeping pattern, sleeping early and waking up early. As when time permitted him, he sat straight with closed eyes and his hands on the lap, motionless for hours.

On free-time, he played cards and lost enough money for his counterpart to buy a meal for the day. He was loved by everyone thanks to his generous behaviour.

As education, Mr. Li devoted his time to scrutinize Chinese herbs to try to reveal the secrets of longevity. It involved travelling to various Provinces in China and going even as far as to Thailand to find herbs to cure illnesses.

Of course, it is still unknown whether Mr. Li really lived as long as claimed. But what we do know about him, is that his finding matches modern research done on herbs supporting longevity.

Modern Research

In 2009, the book “ The Blue Zones” were written by Dan Buettner. The subtitle of the book was: “Lessons for Living Longer from the People, Who’ve Lived The Longest” explored condition which promoted longevity across cultures, populations, geographic location and lifestyles from all over the world.

It included groups such as: Okinawans, Costa Ricans, Sardinians, and the Californian Adventists, who actually have the highest rate of people reaching their 100th birthday. In these areas which Dan Buettner named as “blue zones” people do on average live at least 12 years more than the average.

In the research carried-out by Buettner, there were herbal similarities to all the blue-zone groups, meaning that all blue zones had a diet emphasized on legumes. For example, the Adventists in Loma Linda, California ate a high amount of greens & legumes, as stated in the Bible. The Sardinians ate whole-grain bread, special wine, and cheese produced from fresh grass-fed animals.

As a conclusion, the research suggested that low-calorie diets extend the lifespan of people in these regions. The okinawans, they do strictly follow Confucian rule of only eating until the stomach is 80 percent full.

For Mr Li, the wolfberry tea must have helped him to live to an advanced age. Specialists from France and Britain were extremely fascinated by Li’s longevity and decided to conduct elaborate research on wolfberry. Surprisingly, a new vitamin named “vitamin X” or so called “beauty vitamin” was found. Their study concluded that wolfberry stops the accumulation of fat as well as encourage the development of new liver cells, lower cholesterol and blood glucose… and the list goes on.

Wolfberry has a rejuvenation role: it boosts up endocrine glands and brain cells; improves the production of hormones; eliminate toxins that are formed in the blood, this assures that the body sustains its typical function of tissues and organs.

Meditation

In addition, to consuming tea, an exercise that usually follows is meditation. From the University of Massachusetts Medical School, neuroscientists carried out an experiment on highly stressed technology-related employees. The employees were split into two groups; one of the groups was said to meditate for eight weeks while the second group continued to work in their stress.

In the research published in Psychology 2003 “showed a pronounced shift in activity to the left frontal lobe.” Such change in mental focus reduces the bad effects of stress, anxiety and mild depression. It was also noted that there was a lower activity level in the amygdale, a region where the brain deals with fear.

Apart from only being a stress relief, mediation improves mood and inhibits the speed at which the brain shrinks while aging.

From Buettner’s Blue Zone research, it was found that relaxation time does significantly reduce inflammation, a product of stress. As for the Adventists in California who preserved their 24-hour Sabbath day had a time to pray, reflect and to have fun within their social circles.

Longevity & Society

According to Buettner’s research, the society in which you live in does influence how long you live. For instance, Okinawans have many friends and with whom they like to share everything with. The Sardinian show great respect to elders and the Adventists are highly family oritented.

The study suggests that sense of belonging with family and healthy friends encouraging people to live healthy, actually support longevity.

The so Rosetans, which is an Italian group of people who has migrated to Bangor, Pennsylvania, has a low risk of heart diseases. This was found in a study carried out by Malcolm. Apparently, it was neither their diet nor gene that supported their remarkable healthy survival rate.

The secret of the Rosetans potential to live longer was the social structure that isolates them from the stress of the modern world. The environment and surrounding that they had created supported their health.

Buettner’s study also found that across the blue-zone, people weren’t interested in retirement. Their emphasis was on continuing to do what they were already doing.

For the Sardinians as well as Okinwans the sunset years represent the symbol of purpose of life. In these areas, centenarians were seen climbing hills and climbing. Contrary, to the western civilisation who exercise for a purpose, these centenarians simply have an active life.

We hear the many claims about how green tea is great for our health just like so many other nutritional products and kinds of foods, many some of us have never heard of before yet we are enthralled by the statements. So many of the declarations made about these products wind up being nothing more than overblown hype and empty promises. Nevertheless, there has been some ongoing clinical research directed at green tea which warrants further observation and discussion.

Specifically in a laboratory setting, the chief elements found in green tea known as catechins, may actually hold some pretty impressive healthful assets. In particular, study involving cardiovascular fitness along with cancer prevention measures appears to put forward that green tea catechins could perhaps diminish the odds of contracting one of these two primary deadly diseases, though in an attempt to maintain some objectivity, some of the research in this area has been less that optimistic.

At the moment, a recently released public health report regarding a research project on aging Chinese adults is stating that increasing the amount of green tea consumed – in the Chinese subjects anyway – appeared to be related to a latent augmenting of life expectancy. The epidemiological investigation in question was recently printed in the British Journal of Nutrition and involved nine hundred seventy six men and one thousand and thirty women who were sixty five years of age or more. The first evaluation was conducted in 2006 and as well as completing daily surveys about their food consumption, blood work was taken and telomere length was studied. This was done so researchers could determine if diet or lifestyle choices had anything to do with telomere lengthening and life span results.

Telomeres are the tiny security caps on the ends of each chromosome in our system and have been likened to the plastic shoelace caps that keep our laces from unraveling. Each time one of our cells divides, we lose a tiny part of our telomeres. Subsequent to a particular number of cell splits, the cell loses the security of the telomeres and perishes. This snowballing process of telomere loss and cell mortality, [aging or senescence] during our lifetime, has been theorized as a determining factor for our longevity and average life expectancy as well as all creatures. Interestingly, it has also been linked to the procedure that occurs that cause cancer cells to become “immortalized.”

Besides aging and the whole process of cell division and telomere shortening, Inflammation and other biological stress factors [this would include the intake of dietary fats] on our physiology also have a telomere shortening capacity in a premature manner. The end result of this is a shorter life span and the potential of contracting diseases like cancer or cardiovascular disease also.

Surprisingly, the pace of the telomere failure seems to occur more quickly in men than in women – lending credence to the fact that men have shorter life expectancies than do women.

The science community can now actually predict an individual’s age by assessing the span of the telomeres in their blood samples. Additionally, differences in the length of telomeres in different people can also be utilized as an approximation for possible variations in the life spans of these individuals. During this exceptionally impactful health investigation, the uniqueness in telomere spans between the 2006 research study subjects contributing information to the research team, were then coordinated to variables in diet and lifestyles of the Chinese contributors.

Modifications were made taking into account other lifestyle, diet and overall health factors that were already understood regarding telomere spans, the scientists who undertook this investigation established that when green tea was consumed in large quantities, elderly Chinese male subjects has longer telomere lengths. When finished calculating the median telomere lengths in those males who drank large amounts of green tea and those who had little, the evaluators then figured out the possible life expectancy variation of five years comparing these two study groups of patients. The effects of green tea consumption and telomere length on older Chinese women in this study were much less impactful.

These scientists also learned that an elevated amount of dietary fat and oil consumption was further linked to a reduction in telomere length in the Chinese women. The same results were determined in prior investigations in both the men and women evaluated, most specifically in relation to the amount of meat consumed.

As a result, to summarize the findings, regular intake of green tea seems to have an association with the increased spans of telomeres, in the Chinese male population at least. This data alludes to the fact that based on median findings, these men could well be roughly five years more youthful from a physiological perspective, than their same aged equivalents who hardly ever if at all consume green tea. Quite an amazing result actually and one that is worthy of further research.

Regrettably, this particular investigation did not recognize the identical telomere security effect of green tea in the elderly Chinese female subjects, but the data does not rule out the potential that the women might also get a parallel advantage from consistent green tea drinking. Since we know now that men experience telomere shortening quicker than women during their lives, the uniqueness between the sexes and their telomere span preservation seen in this investigation could be the result of green tea catechins’ about face of causes specifically attributed to men and elevated telomere reduction, however, there is no verification for this.

Now would also be a good time to mention that vitamin D, a nutritional element that is also currently undergoing a renewed increase in awareness concerning its relation to cardiovascular disease and cancer – has at the same time been recognized for its complicity with telomere span safeguarding.

That said there is no reason why an individual should not enjoy a cup or two of green tea each day. One caveat to beginning a tradition of healthful consumption of green tea is to be certain you are buying the best available tea you can find. There are also health supplements that have green tea in capsule form that are easier to ingest and a quick alternative to the actual brew. Green tea has for centuries been used in traditional Chinese medicine as a form of digestive tract therapy and treatment due to its soothing properties.

It also goes without saying the most popular media driven benefit of green tea is its utilization as a weight loss treatment. There is certainly more to be excited about over green tea and your health. Here are five benefits a person can derive from consuming green tea regularly.

• Its use as a weight loss remedy is widely known as I already said, and there are various types of green tea that are more effective than others. Oolong tea is quite useful as a natural means of losing weight. It enhances the metabolism innately while providing you with energy. It is important however that you find the best variety of green tea that is available.

• As mentioned above there is a direct link between increased life expectancy and longevity when drinking green tea. You now understand the basics of that research.

• Green tea is a powerful antioxidant and has been linked via substantial evidence that it can boost your immune system dramatically due to the polyphenols it contains. It has been shown to have the capacity to impede the growth of cancer though no clear evidence exists that it can cure cancer, prevention is clearly a great beginning and green tea is likely the best preventative measure you can do for yourself. Why? It impedes the production of the actual enzymes that cause cancer!

• Green tea has been shown to be extremely helpful for the brain and your heart, two pretty important organs. When a person consumes green tea consistently, they are far less liable to contract any heart illnesses or disease. It can be a deterrent to stroke and heart attack as well. This tea will soften the arterial walls and this makes a huge difference in the prevention of heart problems due specifically to lifestyle damage.

• Help combat inflammation due to its anti inflammatory capabilities. Regular consumption of green tea has been proven to assist those people suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and the associated inflammation which is primarily responsible for the pain and discomfort allied with it. It is an effective anti-inflammatory and useful for any illness or disease that has inflammation as a symptom.

There is much more exciting information to be learned regarding the possible cancer deterrent role played by green tea catechins as well as vitamin D and further exciting information regarding increased longevity and health due to consumption of green tea.

All this may make the reader want to rush off and stock up on green tea and even vitamin D but remember that the information relayed to you is for information reasons only. You should never make any major changes that could affect your health without first notifying and consulting with your primary care professional.

Goji berries are said to be a present that the Gods have bestowed upon the human population. This might be stretching things just a bit though the goji berry is a very remarkable fruit. They are known to encourage great health in those who ingest them and are thought to be a reliable means of extending longevity. Immediately it should be stated that goji berries are an excellent supplement for diabetes sufferers as they thwart the craving for sugar as they regulate the level of sugar in those with hypoglycemia.

Goji is pronounced [go-gee] and this berry is quickly becoming a popular trend of late in all its varied forms. They can be found in many variations such as a component of trail mix or diet crunch bars, they can be consumed on their own or consumed as a beverage in a juice or tea. They are most commonly eaten as a dried fruit and in fact this is when they are at their most potent.

The people who regularly ingest this amazing little berry say they experience a feeling of well being when eating them on a day to day basis or a ”I feel fabulous today” feeling whenever they take goji berries in juice form. In parts of Tibet the goji berry is referred to as the laughing berry!

In order to gain maximum benefit from the goji berry it is said that the berry must be eaten in its dried formulation though you will still receive substantial advantages from drinking the goji berry in juice form. People will often use the goji berry to make a tea – a very popular method of gaining the maximum amount of nutritional value while not needing to experience the taste. Personally I do not think the taste is at all difficult to endure. For those people who are on the go and still want to enjoy the benefits of goji berry they can take them in capsule form.

Goji berries are sometimes called Wolfberries and they are by no means a new found sensation since they have been utilized for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine for health and longevity purposes, curing many maladies along the way. Their nickname is the longevity fruit and they were given this name because in the geographical region where this fruit is abundant and consumption is greatest, there are sixteen times more people over the age of one hundred versus the rest of the nation. This group of hundred year old plus individuals appears to be much stronger and more vital than their aged peers in western society.

There is some ancient legend or myths as it were that claim one gentleman who regularly consumed goji berries throughout his existence actually lived to the age of two hundred fifty two years of age. Of course it is called the longevity fruit! It has also been named the “hallelujah berry” for reasons that the rest of us can only speculate over. But, are these claims of remarkable innate abilities truthful? Likewise with numerous other herbal and dietary additions, there is not enough significant scientific verification to back up the many therapeutic advantages attributed to the goji berry but what follows is what is understood about the goji to date.

Goji berry benefits are well known and have been displayed in various medical illnesses over time. They aid in controlling and even turning around obesity, safeguard us from cancer, thwart age associated macular degeneration [eye disease], restore hair pigment, stimulate the immunity and has been used effectively as a treatment for infertility and sexual impotency.

As highly nutritious as the goji berry is, it is thought to be extremely safe for all who consume it but women who are breast feeding or pregnant should avoid ingesting goji berries until more research has been done on how goji actually functions within our systems. Those who do consume goji berries should restrict their amount of ingestion of the goji berry to from ten to thirty grams each day. They contain selenium which could be toxic when taken in abnormally high levels. Selenium is also an essential mineral for men so goji would be an effective method for men to get their necessary selenium quantity.

Goji berries are quite effective at reducing blood sugar levels and knowing this, those who consume goji berry should avoid other supplements known to reduce blood glucose levels like ginger, kudzu and fenugreek so they can avoid the possibility of hypoglycemia. At the same time there is a warning for goji users to avoid the ingestion of herbs like ginseng, turmeric, and valerian since combining them with goji berry risks a potential drop in blood pressure.

The Nutritional Impact Of Goji Berries

Reflect on this if you will. Goji berries are a substantial source of nutrients, minerals and vitamins as well as antioxidants. Based on weight, they hold sixty eight percent carbohydrate, twelve percent protein, ten percent fat and ten percent fiber and contain three hundred seventy calories for each one hundred grams. They also are laden with an amazing thirty three minerals and six vitamins!

It is common knowledge in Chinese medicine that the goji berry has upwards of eighteen amino acids; eight of which are indispensible to the health of our bodies. It is also no secret that the tiny berry holds twenty one trace minerals. The goji is an excellent source for vitamins E, B1, B2 and B6. How absolutely amazing that this enormous quantity of healthful nutrition is found inside the tiny goji berry; about equal in size to a dried raisin? It is a veritable multivitamin in and of itself!

Here Are Even More Particulars – Check Out These Imposing Specifics: [Nutrients In 100 grams of dried Goji fruit]

• 112 mg of Calcium;

• 1132 mg of Potassium;

• 9 mg of Iron;

• 2 mg of Zinc;

• .05 mg of Selenium;

• 1.3 mg of Riboflavin;

• Between 2 to 100 mg of vitamin C;

• 7 mg of Beta-carotene;

• Between 25 and 200 mg of Zeaxanthin;

The goji berry is so insanely healthy for an individual that the common suspicion is it has to taste dreadful, but this is absolutely not true. As I mentioned I think it tastes great, reminiscent of cranberries, raspberries and even strawberries all combined into one great flavor.

By this time you must be raring to go running to the nearest health food market to sample some goji berry but you should be forewarned – goji berry products are not inexpensive. You could quote easily pay upwards of fourteen dollars for a thirty two ounce container of one hundred percent pure goji berry juice.

It might be asking too much but if you truly desire getting the maximum benefits from the goji berry, you should seriously consider becoming a total vegetarian so you can experience the entire package of the goji berry’s potential force. Who knows, once you begin taking the extraordinary goji berry on a regular basis, experiencing first hand its nutritional might, you may also live to see your two hundred and fifty second birthday!

The powerful gains received when eating cordyceps was initially recognized approximately fifteen hundred years ago. Shepherd farmers tending to their herds in the Tibetan mountain ranges realized a difference in their livestock. The cattle had become quite vigorous and were acting more youthful while eating a small mushroom that resembled grass.

It has been since this time that cordyceps became popular as a pick-me-up stimulant that seemed to improve many other physiological issues such as better organ functionality, improved immunity and general strength and well being. Cordyceps are suggested as a means to recovery from childbirth and surgery or illnesses.

Cordyceps are commonly recommended as a treatment method for asthma, chest congestion and coughing, weak lung and wheezing, shortness of breath and as an expectorant. Cordyceps work vigorously on the “lung meridian”, that of Chinese traditional medicine lore, and therefore is effective as a remedy and preventive therapy for lung ailments. In those individuals who require a boost of energy due to a weak respiratory system, cordyceps enhance energy so physical labor is easier, as well as sports or physical activity in general.

Traditional medicine practitioners quite often utilize cordyceps as a means of treating overall fatigue, weakness and debilitation. As a means of staving off stress cordyceps are quite effective and they are used to battle fatigue and intense tiredness while augmenting endurance. This remarkable fungus is used as a stimulant when added energy is required for day to day activities and it will aid in adjusting sleep cycles while effectively assisting in the transfer of essential nutrients within your body. Cordyceps are also proven to aid in the oxygenation of the cells so knowing this it would behoove a person to try taking cordyceps to improve their physical well being.

Cordyceps are also known for its effectiveness as an innate aphrodisiac and is highly sought after as a sexual tonic. It does not have the fast acting tendencies of say horny goat weed, deer antler or even sea dragon, cordyceps acts in a more overall intense manner to strengthen sexual prowess. It is known for its yin and yang capacity and as a strong yang tonic it reinforces the kidney channel, also of traditional medicine teachings, an area known for sexual vitality and longing.

In traditional Chinese medicine, cordyceps is for use in males suffering erectile dysfunction but it is also a treatment for impotence and infertility. It will treat and improve one’s libido, sexual function and desire as well as energy requirements and the physical durability required for sexual activity. Many studies and investigations have been conducted that display the results of cordyceps and their ability to stimulate the discharge of testosterone as it relaxes the smooth corpus cavernosum muscle found in the penis. This provides for additional blood flow causing firmer erections while enhancing sexual feeling. Investigations concluded at Beijing University that there was a sixty four percent success ratio in men who endured sexual impotence.

Cordyceps act as a strong traditional anti aging trigger for rejuvenating the body while innately encouraging longevity in its users. It restocks the yin and yang energy balance rebuilding physical potency subsequent to intense physical, emotional or mental effort. It should be emphasized that cordyceps act to safeguard an individual from the rapid advance of aging related to stress sources. Investigations have verified how cordyceps will raise the activity level of superoxide dismutase [or SOD] – an extremely favorable and forceful antioxidant in our bodies. Since cordyceps is a potent antioxidant on its own it assists in ridding the body of free radical activity that can lead to early aging and more serious though common age related degenerative illnesses.

Cordyceps has displayed a capacity to lower a person’s bad LDL cholesterol as they raise the good stuff, the HDL cholesterol level. It can stop the bad LDL cholesterol from oxidation as it thins out the blood to thwart plaque formation or clotting, both of which can clog blood vessels. This action will aid in the prevention of strokes or heart attacks. There have been clinical trials and investigations that show people who suffer from heart disease are able to amazingly rebound and begin progressive healing while taking cordyceps along with their physician prescribed pharmaceuticals.

Your kidneys have been referred to as “the root of life” and so cordyceps has been utilized primarily as a treatment for kidney malfunction. Recent medical research has verified that cordyceps are definitely safeguarding the kidneys while they also aid in improving their operational capability. Kidney transplant patients have taken cordyceps and found them very effective at aiding in healing processes. There is one caveat here that when using cordyceps for kidney conditions you should only do so under the guidance of a medical professional.

Cordyceps have traditionally been a way of making the body stronger and building up its defenses from infectious contagions and studies of late have proven that they are powerful immune system enhancers. Cordyceps will trigger the development of immunity cells like macrophages, lymphocytes, T helper cells and interleukin within your system. They will act as an extraordinary immunity regulator since they will stimulate the underachieving immunity cells and calm the overactive types.
Since the 1970s in China they have been investigating the ability of cordyceps to restrain cancer cells. The examinations have revealed that cordyceps aided in the reduction of the size of a tumor and enhanced the sick patients coping ability where chemotherapy and radiation treatments were given. It also lowered the toxicity consequences on the bone marrow caused by these therapies. The investigations showed that cordyceps had anti tumor characteristics and they trigger natural killer defenses.

When our immune system is strained it must work harder longer as it works at neutralizing harmful environmental byproducts that surround us always. Try as we may, we will get sick and our bodies will be out of balance from the constant onslaught of infectious bacteria and damaging free radicals. Cordyceps as a mushroom/fungus have the innate ability to protect us from much of this potential harm by augmenting our immunity. Particularly as we advance in age our bodies become more vulnerable and it is even more important to ingest cordyceps.

Cordyceps or cordyceps Sinensis are found in extreme altitudes and are also known as “winter worm or summer grass even caterpillar fungus by some based on the Chinese definition of its name. It is a natural cross union of insect and plant life. It was thought to be a worm rather than an herbal plant form when it was first discovered centuries ago. The cordyceps is a byproduct of a variety of fungus which leeches off the larvae of Chongcao bat moths and shapes into a fungus – larva combo body, taking up to seven years to finish its cycle of life.

The cordyceps is actually a culinary delicacy in Chinese society having been used in soups and various brews along with pork and poultry. Because it is so lavishly priced and quite scarce, once again a mushroom was only available to the wealthiest of ancient cultures reserved for emperors and royalty. Cordyceps have been known for centuries as an effective treatment in traditional Chinese medicine.

In 1993, a trio of female Chinese athletes al set new global records at the national games in China. When quizzed by journalists, their coach credited their success to intense physical training and being supplemented by cordyceps mushroom fungus. Even now studies continue to verify the effectiveness of cordyceps for their healthful benefits.

Approximately ten years ago a modest study was conducted at the American College of Sports Medicine during their annual meeting that revealed how cordyceps based supplements such as CordyMax and Pharmanex had raised considerably the ceiling oxygen uptake and anaerobic maximums, which might lead to additional exercise capability and an opposition to eventual exhaustion.

Cordyceps are a simple way for anyone to get maximum health benefits from their dietary and nutritional meal planning. Rarely has there been such a powerful food product with such healthy benefits that can be so easily added to any current menu. They can be found in a natural dried formation, powdered mix, tinctures, as a dietary supplement or they can be mixed into soups or broth as a tonic. Young people and the elderly alike can all benefit from the phenomenal features offered by this highland mushroom fungus that has been helping keep people healthy and live extended lives for many centuries. That seems like quite an impressive track record.

It seems that the mighty mushroom has done it again. Ganoderma extract is comes from the Reishi mushroom and it is a particularly potent component, according to traditional Chinese medicine practitioners since it has been in use for many hundreds of years. There was a period when this element of the mushroom was in great demand but was also extremely rare so it was only made available to royalty at the time. Fortunately today, this uncommon “toadstool” is available in larger quantities for the masses due to our advanced technological skills and growing capabilities and facilities.

Ganoderma has many amazing benefits for an individual’s health, starting with an innate ability to aid with stress to treating common conditions like fatigue and an inability to sleep. The ancient Chinese used this extract as a means of attaining longevity and to power up their immune systems, much like it is used in modern times. One’s immunity is critical to overall health and the properties found in ganoderma are renowned for this healthful advantage. A poor immunity function leaves a person open to many infectious contagions that can do untold immediate harm and over time.

The ganoderma extract has been used on patients who are undergoing cancer treatments such as chemotherapy, which can be quite hard on the recipient. Chemo treatment has comprehensive negative reactions on a person’s body is ravages their immune system. These adverse reactions include fatigue, falling hair, nausea, no appetite; all of which have been reduced to a great extent when the patient is taking ganoderma extract. Since ganoderma is an immunity enhancer, it is effective for any illness or condition that zaps one’s ability to fight infection. It is for this reason that it is also prescribed for HIV and AIDS patients.

It has also displayed an ability to alleviate the dismal effects of allergies and also help some skin conditions such as acne. It works to fight against the damaging advance of aging from harmful rays from the sun when it is used on a continual regimen. Many users claim it has improved the age spots on their skin.

There is uniqueness to this traditional medicine and its effectiveness seems to know no limits since it also aids in easing particular liver dysfunctions, lung ailments and even heart problems have been improved. Another very interesting reaction from taking ganoderma extract is that it can reduce hypertension in people and also impede the growth of tumors. It has also been noted that ganoderma will improve the body’s general blood circulation.

Ganoderma certainly sounds too good to be true and one may wonder what it is that makes this natural remedy seem so unbelievable. The healing effects of the extract are believed to be a result of this exceptional mushroom substance containing complex carbohydrates called triterpeniods as well as a litany of amino acids, proteins, polysaccharides and triterpenes [or ganoderic acids]. This is quite an impressive list of ingredients in a single extract and little wonder it has been featured by traditional Chinese medicine practitioners for so long.

Ganoderic acids mimic antihistamines within our body and really do assist those suffering from allergens. Triterpenes leave a harsh taste in the mouth which has an effect on the extract as a whole; however, the antihistamine efficiency is rated based on the amount of bitterness. Ganoderma extract is a singularly extraordinary product and is still referred to in some regions as the king of herbs. It has a positive effect on the functioning of the liver that helps to detoxify by ridding the body of toxicity more efficiently.

Our bodies are bombarded by toxins through our diets and particularly through environmental causes like smog and water pollution. These contaminates are the reason many feel an all encompassing feeling of fatigue and exhaustion, usually accompanied by an inability to get a peaceful sleep. A person might also feel a lack of connectivity with their cognitive function and have trouble remaining attentive, while great pressure is focused on the immune system that sets the stage for all varieties of Infectious conditions and illnesses.

This substance has been utilized as a successful diuretic when a person is plagued by water retention and also as an expectorant for lung congestion; it is highly sought after as a cold remedy. Since it has an innate sedative capacity it is used as an effective non habit forming sleep aid. Modern science and medicine has yet to look into the many unique traditional medicines known as curatives in the Far East for centuries but ganoderma is making some headway into western society as people look for assistance in alternative treatments.

It has been called a miracle cure by some, but for anyone who is concerned about their health and is interested in giving their systems careful attention, this powerful herbal remedy should be explored. Many in the west have no knowledge of the dramatic capability of ganoderma extract, unlike many Asian cultures where it has gained prominence. It is used as a therapy for a multitude of conditions and has proven itself extremely valuable as an innate curative.

Ganoderma is harvested from the bark of trees and is a very bitter mushroom taken by many in Asia for its proven healthful qualities and ability to improve one’s chances for increased longevity. This is not a mushroom derivative that is promoted for use in food preparation though; it should only be used for its medicinal value.

Ganoderma is available in various formulations starting with a liquid extract that is quite popular, it can be found in capsule form for oral administration, and as well it is increasingly more accepted taken in tea or coffee. The main advantage from taking ganoderma is that is it is extremely potent as a means of augmenting personal immunity and as a purifier. It can be an amazing curative for numerous areas of the body and acts as a wonderful therapeutic prophylactic.

For people who are progressing in age, ganoderma is a wonderful natural means of slowing the advancement of aging features. It can help reduce the amount of tissue degeneration and will revitalize cellular structure. The anti aging characteristics of ganoderma are many and it is absolutely laden with antioxidants, something our bodies need to continually replenish.
One of the reasons why it is so effective for controlling heart problems is its effectiveness at regulating safe levels of cholesterol. As more mainstream medical professionals begin to recognize the power of ganoderma, they are promoting it as a means of combating some types of cancer at their earliest stages.

The main ingredient in ganoderma works effectively to develop better blood circulation, while it promotes better energy and endurance. It can aid in sustaining proper function of a person’s metabolism and improve chemical imbalances within the body. It is a natural remedy so it can be utilized in differing quantities to promote increased health and detoxification of your internal systems with no known adverse reactions.

One more immense advantage to taking ganoderma at this specific time is turning out to be reasonably more affordable for the masses. It was not that long ago when this substance could only be found in parts of Asia and because of how it is grown or produced, quantities were restricted. Supply and demand meant that the cost was prohibitive too many except the most well to do. Today, the product is being produced in controlled environments like labs where they cultivate and harvest the fungus in a far more industrious manner.

So, due to this increased efficiency with production, prices are dropping and it is becoming more popular as a natural curative. Before you begin to invest your money in this or any new natural product you should do some research on your own and investigate that which you are about to ingest into your body. Discuss it with your primary healthcare provider as well. You want to make sure there are no contraindications or reactions with any drugs you might already have been prescribed. With medical clearance you could be on your way to greater, more vigorous health and a longer life.

In Chinese, the definition of this mushroom is “the herb of spiritual potency” – it has also been called the “mushroom of immortality”!

Qigong Breathing A Critical Piece Of Longevity Puzzle -

Shaolin monks understand how vital breathing is and they practice this in their temples always. Each time they move, when they kick or punch, they are doing so in combination with their Qi breathing. Shaolin monks are world renowned for their martial arts prowess, also for their advanced health and longevity due in large part to the breathing exercises known as Qigong. Chances are you may never have heard of this so continue reading and learn more.

Reverse Qigong Breathing

Qigong breathing is not like our normal method of breathing. When practicing Shaolin, the procedure for breathing is turned around – like the heart pumps blood into the system, the breath is sent coursing through the body as the lungs pump it. There is never a time when regular breathing is used when practicing Qigong, The lungs pump Qi, or breath, during the practice of Qigong, utilizing a distinct procedure which allows the breath to enter areas of the body where it is required and it can actually be channeled there.

Qigong For Offense

When practicing qigong using the Shaolin Steel Jacket technique, breath is funneled into the rib cage so no harm is done to this area when the practitioner is beat upon with metal bars or bricks are broken on them as you may have seen in demonstrations. Shaolin Qigong, however, is not only about monks with heads shaved using menacing kung fu martial arts movements. It is easily one of the finest methods known to elevate our level of health, fitness well being and most importantly, our longevity.

The Youthful Elixir

The Shaolin monks are not the only ones who are celebrated for their practices of longevity; the Taoist hermits also rate mention. Many thousands of years in the past, in the mountainous regions of China, Taoists deliberated over Qigong, referring to it as the elixir of youth. In an attempt to “taste the secret of life” they did what they could to live as long as possible. Buddhist monks also practiced Qigong in an effort to extend their lives as well so they could achieve “illumination”.

These days, Qigong is practiced to assist with martial arts but to aid in our own health and longevity. As much as we may not like it, we are growing older by the minute; this aids us in doing so gracefully. Practicing regular qigong along with proper exercise, we will avoid illness and stay younger longer.

Failure to continue with the practice of qigong means many practitioners of martial arts and other forms of physical training would be unable to carry on. If you look carefully you will notice that those who participate in qigong look much younger than their actual chronological age. Shaolin experts, every one of them, appear much younger than they really are. This is entirely due to their Qigong training.

Immediate Health

It is unfortunate that many myths and whispers have been building in western society about the effectiveness of Qigong and longevity though it is quite easy to understand. The many secrets of Qigong were originally only allowed to be practiced inside China since 1989, prior to this time it had to be learned covertly, clandestinely from one generation to the next. There are many grateful students from these temples whose masters took risks transferring their knowledge on to them.

Training For Longevity

The longevity Regimen is comprised of warming up, doing stretches, Qigong breathing and self massage, utilizing the same ideology as acupuncture. Similar to the blood vessels and veins running through our body, each of us has our own power source matrix winding within our body as well. In the East, this matrix is known as, channels. Think of them as river systems. During the course of our day, these channels become obstructed, if we do not alleviate these obstructions in due time, we will become ill.

Using Qigong For Liver Health

For instance, when we become stressed out, the channels to our livers are obstructed; Qigong for our liver will remove this obstruction. Popular Qigong training will remove obstructions from all the most important channels and that means the liver as well. When we manage these channels each day, the continuous removal of obstructions means that our Qi will stream effortlessly. Because of this, Qigong participants have far greater stores of energy; they have radiant skin, amazing immune function that thwarts many illnesses before they have a chance to take root. There is no better kind of medicine than this preventive type. To reach optimal Qigong training, all workouts are completed with the acupuncture brand of self massage.

Speaking Of Self Massage

When looking to maximize health, you would use a bamboo brush for self massage, the martial arts variety that would advance to the use of body conditioning like the Shaolin Steel Jacket, one would then utilize a steel brush, and both massage procedures are the same.

When doing self massage, it will consist of about ten minutes of application done after the Qigong. This is akin to a form of innate reenergizing of your body’s battery. As you become more accomplished with practice you can begin to use more force with your massage, eventually feeling the effects of the massage straight down into your core bone marrow. There is a terminology called bone marrow cleansing that gets its name from this particular technique. Any popular Training course will include this procedure.

Green Tea And The Power of Jade Stone

As well as using Qigong and self massage as tools for longevity and health, the Chinese population have also utilized jade as a means of achieving longer life. Quite often Shaolin monks can be seen with a jade Buddha hanging from their wrist or around the neck, the energy jade stone is also prevalent in many homes or automobiles. The philosophy is that all things have their own energy or Qi. Since jade is mined from the earth, it comes complete with its own source of energy. No one is saying you must automatically trust this creed. Your perspective changes when you stand on a mountain top or near a waterfall, instead of sitting at a desk and a computer; thoughts are perceived differently. Computers and a desk will not instill a source of inner physical power in us nor will it supply us with our longevity energy! The Chinese utilize jade as a means of cleansing and achieving equilibrium for their bodies. In Chinese society, the women will often use jade as a means of thwarting facial age progression.

Chinese society is also very big on drinking green tea. Green tea is laden with antioxidants that are truly beneficial in preventing the body from prematurely aging. It is becoming more popular in the west and more people should be drinking it regularly.

If someone were to try and describe what an apple tastes like, it is far from the actual experience of eating your own apple. This is also true of the Qigong Longevity and Health Regimen. It will quite likely elevate your productivity at work and aid in your personal well being with life in general. You will be able to run with more speed and agility and punch with more fervor and speed. You will find you have excess energy for practicing martial arts or any other physical activity you partake in and a renewed zest for life. But why only listen to me, try it out for yourself. You have nothing to lose and chances are likely that you will gain so much more than you could hope for.

Begin Your Own Personal Shaolin Longevity Regimen

You can now purchase books and videos that will teach you the techniques you require for your own training program. You will be able to plan your training weekly along with times and dates that you can record data about how you are progressing and immediate reactions to practice sessions. You can refer back to this information as your advance in your training.

Safeguard Yourself From Negativity

A little more on wearing the jade stone – it will take you back; alerting you regarding the positive progress you are making for your health. You will be reminded not to quit or throw in the proverbial towel. When learning something novel, it is simple to fall back on our old ways and renege on a new path. When we wear the jade stone, it keeps us safe from any negativism that may slip into our thoughts. At the risk of sounding way out there – the jade stone will connect your spirit and heart to your new knowledge and the teachings you are undergoing, you will be reminded of the gift you are being given. when you have committed yourself to learning Qigong training and longevity regimen, get a jade stone for yourself as a gift for the new experience and knowledge you are embarking upon.

You will be amazed at the enhanced level of self-assurance, focus, serenity, and vigor you will command. From a practical perspective, you will also sleep much more restfully and when you wake up every morning you will feel revitalized and ready to tackle anything!

The Chi and or negative ions, work with the body at the molecular level with cells. The electromagnetic [EM] field surrounding the cells is equipped with a highly discriminating force field making up an element of the defensive apparatus, allowing nutrients and waste to come and go – to and from the cell while repelling contagions, viruses and bacteria to the outside. The force field uses a comparable capability to the cell walls, making the consumption of essential fatty acids from various foods so important.

When we ingest foods such as hydrogenated oils for instance, they will disturb the operations of the cell walls from both a physical and energy level standpoint. The reason for this is due to these hydrogenated oils being so extremely close to actually being a variety of celluloid plastic! Plastics act to stifle the flow of energy. This means the cell wall will drop its physical barricade but the EM sheath is also breached. This means every cell is vulnerable to attack, mutation and from being disrupted from the inside.

The more durable the EM field about the cell, the more powerful the flow of energy will be throughout our system, providing much better immunity health and safeguarding us from foreign contagion and illnesses. The EM power as well as light [a form of EM power of its own] is why our organs and tissues become energized and how they communicate with one our brain [also an EM generator]. As a result our systems become far better at repelling illnesses, disease and deterioration and degeneration. Like the martial arts masters learned, as health and preventive fitness levels are elevated, so too is the physical endurance and toughness of the body when the participant concentrates on the chi or EM power within the body.

It is when these practices are utilized by martial arts masters that they are able to maintain the discipline and have bricks broken over them with sledgehammers and they can withstand baseball bats swung into them – even repelling the sharp ends of weapons that are unable to puncture their skin in the slightest. This king of control is acquired over years of practice and training that is comprised of deep breathing from the diaphragm, meditation and particular physical training techniques. The body can eventually become so tough that nothing less than a gunshot will enter or damage their body or even skin! Chinese martial arts masters can take much of the credit for educating society about chi; this has eventually included the art of healing and healthful therapies.

Throughout the years, masters of the martial arts have taught and spoken to groups to provide a better knowledge of the energy sciences and discussing chi broadly. Who better to explain why health and well being will be greatly enhanced by utilizing chi to restore and rejuvenate – but being disciplined enough to learn the art over much time. To actually find the origin of all health difficulties and begin rejuvenation, chi must be accumulated, sanitized, elevating its balance and flow. With a calm and meditative mind, these things will all happen at a much quicker pace than average. It is for this reason that it is vital to train the mind to relax so it health can be augmented and longevity can be increased as modern science continues to verify.

As humans we well understand we are not simply organic automatons or some type of bio apparatus. We experience things, we have feelings and thoughts, we are emotional beings with aspirations and a willingness to gain knowledge and grow. These characteristics are attributed to our spirits and are so far from anything a machine could match. A piece of equipment may be programmable so it can duplicate emotions and other human like qualities but they will never be mistaken for human.

Conventional medicine does its best to describe human feelings using physical details such as hormonal imbalance, misfiring neurons or simple chemical reactions. In fact it is the overall streaming of a person’s chi that enhances the cells, hormones and neurons in the first place giving then the bio electric energy required to perform their vital functions. If there were no chi, the body would expire. The same as a machine or automaton would be useless and dead without the power to operate.

If you are ever in witness of a human body that is lifeless you will be able to observe the obvious absence of life and chi no longer present in this form, there is no energy, aura, or life at all only dead matter. The fact remains that without chi in our body, the flow of bio electric power, our body is nothing more than a lifeless bit of matter. It is our chi energy that gives us life and the spirit to our flesh. For this reason it is vital to gain as much chi as possible, the more chi energy we accumulate, the stronger and more vital we will be and the longer we will live. Meditative breathing combined with a calm and settled mind is the prime method for building on our chi and elevating our energy force.

When we partake in physical activity and training this is a great way to accumulate this life power and the main reason why exercise and activity are critical to our overall health. However, the Chinese have never made heavy strength training exercises part of their regimen, only on a limited scale do they do weight training. This is good news for those folks who do not have a desire to lift heavy weights. It is okay not to do heavy lifting as part of a healthy and fit routine. When working to achieve higher levels of energy development this becomes important when maintaining those specific energy capacities is crucial to higher spiritual plateaus to achieve clarification.

All of the encroaching environment concerns such as poor air quality, sitting in “dead air “ office towers all day, overeating poor foods, allowing machines to do our work all have an effect on our bio energy flow. It greatly diminishes the crucial balance we strive for with our chi. It also heavily depletes our enzymes which are critical for digestion and healthy immune function.

Ongoing stress, anxiety and worry affect our body so that our chi is continuously being exhausted and utilized at an incredible speed. Yet one more reason why many individuals begin to age earlier than normal or just have such low energy levels their immunity is compromised and the body gets run down and sick. This is a concern for the fertility in both genders as well, a problem that is more prevalent than ever these days.

At birth humans are allotted a specific quantity of energy known as Yaun Chi or also “Original Chi” passed to us from our parents at conception. The wonderful attributes of purity, and strength from this kind of chi is predetermined by the health of the parents at that particular time of conceiving a child. The fetus is also effected, its development of emotional and mental characteristics coming into play at this time as well.

It is interesting that western sciences are now even starting to recognize this field of Epigenetics. Epigenetics is a fairly novel field of study concerning genes that identifies how one’s genes do not control the body as was suspected for so long a period. Instead it is the mind combined with its thoughts, emotions and principles that actually has authority and not the DNA from our genes.

This falls in perfect lock step with the ancient Chi-gung adage which says “the mind controls the chi and the chi controls the body”. Martial arts masters and Taoists have understood this for millennia, also giving a better understanding of how much more advanced over western thinking traditional medicine is when it comes to human physiology.

Even if your parents did not pass on quality energy stores to you there are things one can do to build strength and enhance our energy and health. We are able to defeat these obstacles and implement tougher bio energy stores in us by heeding good dietary habits, practicing proper breathing techniques, learning how to relax our mind and getting more exercise, among some other lifestyle corrections.

We need to recharge our chi batteries in the lower abdomen where our chi energy is warehoused within our body. This will have a huge positive impact on our health by building on our strength and improving energy flow. Learning breathing methods such as the – eight pieces of brocade, chi gung meditation and other energy techniques – we will radically advance the four primary features of our chi. These characteristics of chi would be: quantity, quality, balance and energy flow.

The only true means of learning these models is by practicing them, this is the single best way to learn that these chi energy techniques really are effective and are capable of changing your life for the good. This is the result of a perfect understanding and vital observation of not simply health and therapeutic healing but human longevity and the very existence of life itself.

This will only happen by doing it and actually experiencing the chi energy, specifically for those still not convinced of the effectiveness of chi and whether or not it is more than a myth. By practicing breathing and meditation you will experience for yourself in short order that human bio energy is really quite powerful and a tool for improving oneself on many levels.

Your health, strength and well being will truly be altered for the better and you can begin to really understand the wonders of the human experience that it is far more than we have understood it to be. In the final tally, your health will be greatly improved; your energy level will be higher than anything you previously had. You will be free from fear, worry and all doubts will be eliminated, those doubts that prevent us from reaching all of our life’s objectives.

Health problems are pretty common occurrences these days; many of us are plagued by some ailment or another. As we get older it gets worse, internal health issues serious in nature incapacitate many while the fortunate ones with difficulties count their blessings they only suffer perhaps joint pain or irritating chronic conditions. Our body is an intensely multifaceted work of physiology so this being the case, when something goes wrong with it, it can have critical consequences.

There is evidence of this reality due to the many millions of individuals who may just not being feeling in optimal health, for whatever reason. In fact, there are reasons for feeling like this and they are actually pretty fundamental. There are any number of reasons why these conditions get blown out of all proportion, news programs, print media and of course the Internet, that combine to sensationalize everything. This makes it difficult to comprehend those rudimentary things like our diets, lack of sleep or exercise, can be at the root of many health problems.

Often the complex problems can be relieved by doing the uncomplicated such as meditative breathing exercises, improving the foods you eat and getting a couple extra hours of sleep each night! People must learn that they will never get all the facts from mainstream media and what they do receive is more often than not, incomplete or exaggerated.

The majority of us are coming to terms with what we need to do in order to maintain decent health and diet is one of those things. Oddly it is not the most important though. Nutrition is vital to our defense against disease and the ability to heal and restore ourselves; it is not the most important thing. Obviously we would all be in better health if our surroundings were not contaminated and if we only consumed the most healthy and organic foods. This would keep us in peak condition ready to live an extended healthy life, barring of course, having a piano fall on our heads or something just as untimely! There is more to why that food is so good for us and many do not discuss it out of fear of the unknown or a lack of knowledge; we miss the benefits it provides.

We are constantly confronted by advertisements promoting some new drug that will help us or some treatment that will cure all that ails us. It can be perplexing at best and annoying at its worst. What is true is how we must research extensively to find the truth about whatever we take to find the honest answers.

The Chinese searched long and hard for their “Elixir of Immortality”, sampling everything from herbs and minerals, combining drugs AND minerals [quite complex for traditional medicine of the past]. So much of this early research was conducted by the group commonly known as Taoists monks. Taoism is one element of three major religions within China, a group that includes Buddhism and Confucianism. These Taoists were considered to be extremely practical, pragmatic and very scientific.

They made it their quest to look long and hard for whatever they could find in order to sustain their longevity for as long as possible. They were definitely not frightened of their own mortality, far from it. The longer they could keep themselves alive and vital, the more time they could spend teaching and promoting their spirituality and preaching a singularity with the universe.

During the hundreds of years they searched for the correct amalgam they found just an enormous quantity of critical data that is amazingly being used to this day. After the unfortunate experimentation fatalities that numbered in the thousands, the Taoists realized the immortality elixir they so ardently searched for would not be found in some manmade or organic chemical, but rather it already had rooted itself from birth internally in all of us as our life force known as chi.

Many may already have an understanding of the traditional Chinese medicines and their philosophy – including the theory of chi, there will be no surprises. Those who have practiced or undergone traditional Chinese or innate Eastern healing therapies, they will be familiar with the importance placed upon this life force for one’s personal well being. Modern research has verified the significance of the practice of chi and proven it real through physics and medicine. Humans must learn that we are not only physical organisms but also spiritual. We not only have our physical being but our energy or spirit being as well. Humans have a light, we are radiant people and not simply natural matter; we are alive with life, consciousness, spiritual power and much more.

A physicist by the name of Popp also found that our body was a warehouse for bioluminescent vigor, thought to be the manner by which our cells correspond. It is for this reason we are so dependent on sunlight for our health and restoration. Though western medicine has its doubts, this is all fact. Western medical science does its best to encourage people to believe that we are no more than natural organisms with the ability to heal on our own or by medical practitioners assisting us with drugs and medical procedures.

There is no question that during traumatic events, acute ill health or accidents, drugs and invasive medicine have the power to save lives and this should never be discounted. However, the majority of our health difficulties these days can be managed by less medical intrusion. Using the correct energy procedures, nutritional and other therapeutic techniques, the human body is capable of repairing itself based on its original design work.

Western remedies take a more mechanical analysis of human physiology, not unlike any piece of equipment that needs some form of repair; they cannot fix themselves so professional assistance is required. Conventional physicians still think healing necessitates the use of medication or surgery even after witnessing bodies heal on their own time and again.

Often when an individual is healed through traditional medicine of a deadly disease like cancer, they will obstinately, even haughtily declare that the person was misdiagnosed in the first place. It clearly displays the inability of conventional medicine to show flexibility in its thinking when confronted with unconventional methods of dealing with non contagious inner disease. The fact that it may have been misdiagnosed initially or there was a failure to cure shows that the conventional therapies and procedures did not work.

Since the human body is really a large biological electro magnet, it reveals the most important single reason why chi is so important to human health. It is a fact that if we did not have this electromagnetic field, our life would not exist. Cells also are comprised of these electromagnetic fields; this is what sustains their life. When these fields are strong, the cells are also much stronger and better able to fend off deterioration and mortality.

Chi is known to be a form of bio electric energy, though not a variety which is measurable using a volt meter. It is present in its own distinct plateau or zone but manages to be forceful enough to act together with this realm. However it is classified, our human body must have this life force in order to maintain its survivability. As it is refined, this life force will allow the recipient to achieve some phenomenal acts of power, strength and curing. When it comes to health, it allows a person to heal from grave sickness and even more significant, act to safeguard that person from becoming sick to start with.

As man began to explore space, orbiting the earth back in the 1960s, NASA realized that the astronauts became over tired very rapidly when they changed to their inside oxygen storage. NASA was flummoxed over this problem and it had to be solved in order to carry on trying to conquer space travel. They spent many hours assessing the uniqueness between earth oxygen and pure air held in the oxygen storage tanks. After much research they discovered the problem was that earth air contained ions and the pure air aboard the space craft did not contain these – negative ions. What they found out was the electrical potential of the air on board the space capsule was classed at almost zero and the air on terra firma was much stronger.

Interestingly, the electric potential of the air in rural locations is also much more powerful than in the urban areas. Likewise it is strong in mountainous regions and near seas and oceans because of the movement of waves, the water itself and sunlight which create huge quantities of negative ions. These negative ions are also manufactured subsequent to thunderstorms and this gives the air quality an energized feel, a fresh and powerful characteristic right after the weather action. The existence of static electricity and lightening, simply a release of static electricity, is evidence of the energy that is present in the air.

NASA went ahead and installed generators that produced negative ions into their space craft and space shuttles that ionize the air, consuming it with negative ions, and their problem was solved – no more astronauts feeling weariness while in space.

Stress is one of the leading causes of physical and emotional breakdown in people and so managing this stress can have a considerable impact on our health and well being. The benefits gained when practicing guided meditation are those that are barely noticeable, happening silently in your subconscious mind with no conscious knowledge. In order to better understand how guided meditation will aid your health, you need to understand some basic terminology and the first is Homeostasis. This term refers to the process of your various physiological systems collaborating to properly manage the peak environment for your internal system functionality. In other words, this is your body doing its best to achieve a balance.

Everyone’s body is engineered with eleven main organ systems. Let us look at those organ structures to help you understand better the intricacies of this meditative course of action.

• Integumentary – (epidermis or skin);
• Skeletal;
• Muscular;
• Nervous;
• Endocrine – [hormones];
• Circulatory;
• Lymphatic – [disease immunity];
• Respiratory;
• Digestive;
• Urinary;
• Reproductive.

For each second that you are alive, these systems are continuously at work, scrutinizing your body and constantly making modifications to every one of these systems.

The Astounding Human Body

As a matter of practicality, when we consume food, the body is compelled to produce particular enzymes and concentrate the flow of blood so that digestion may occur. When you do aerobic exercise, your body needs to regulate your body temperature to prevent you from overheating. When you draw blood because of an accident of some kind, a number of your systems join forces to mend the spot you injured and to defend against any infection. The obvious instances are the most common to contemplate.

However, think about your body under stress. When you are in a stressful situation there is no physical display of damage – at least not one that can be easily spotted like a gash or bruising. Focus your mind’s eye on a potential deadline, monetary crisis or personal strife; you know this absolutely influences your functionality. You feel your body compensating by becoming physically exhausted or some other response. The body is continuous in its monitoring and modifies to any number of influential reactions.

The process of Homeostasis is continuously vigilant in an attempt to aid in maintaining a balance.

Other terms you need to understand have to do with your autonomic nervous system. They are partitioned into two divides – the sympathetic and parasympathetic. In layman’s terms, it means you are in one or another of “Fight or Flight” form or “Rest and Digest” form.

The best analogy to aid in better understanding this dates back to prehistoric time. Early man needed to stand and fight to kill in order to eat or Run [Flight] from the dangerous animal so mealtime was not suddenly reversed! Adrenalin surged in his system regardless of his choice. That is existing in the sympathetic nervous system.
When things finally calmed down, he was able to sit quietly in his habitat, stirring the fire with his spear for some enjoyment. He was able to unwind. He was not a slave to an employer, there were no ringing telephones, bill collectors and he was able to lay back and relax. This is the parasympathetic form of existence.

The world we exist in today is downright frantic in comparison – so many of us settling into “go mode”. Stress has become a common occurrence. How often do you hear yourself or others complain of needing a holiday; momentarily seeing yourself relaxing on a secluded beach with a pineapple full of some exotic cocktail when suddenly you come crashing back to reality. There is no time, no additional money and you have responsibilities! Shame on you for even thinking that way…

However, if you remain in fight or flight form for an extended period of time your body becomes exhausted. There is evidence to prove this fact. When you are under a bombardment of stress, your body is more likely to succumb to illness and ill health – physically and emotionally. It is the simplest thing to get caught up in a downward spin due to excessive stress. It is human nature and a personality trait of those who are susceptible to stress to work even harder though they feel lousy. They will continue to do their job as they would if they were in peak condition, which they are not.

Your performance will suffer, any task you perform is difficult, mistakes are easier to make and in the end, you create even more work. Who reading this has never been there? Working even harder to get the job done even though we are operating at a distinct disadvantage is a common trap. We allow our work to consume us, put in longer hours and sacrifice much enjoyment in our lives. We do this so we can either keep our jobs, or simply have more things we think we need.

The slope you are navigating is covered in ice. When you become this ensnared in your stress, often the only thing that will pull you from your spiral is an illness or health scare of some variety. It is your body’s way of letting you know it needs a breather. No doubt, it is tough, but very true.

Hence, another look at Homeostasis. The body calibrating itself. The balancing of all of life’s influences. There will be occasions when you find it necessary to run around with your hair on fire – often quite exciting times and memorable for their fun and achievement. Nevertheless, what about resting and digesting? [This does not mean unbuckling your belt in front of the television after a big meal!]
At what point do you find the time to flee from the circumstances of your stress and take some time for just you?

When you do find the time for a balance adjustment, understand that it is better in repeated amounts. Finding just short but recurrent reprieves from your stress is critical. Finding the discipline to regularly take a break where you do nothing is giving yourself the gift of opportunity to improve your life and add quality to it.
Meditation is a magnificent method to aid Homeostasis. Guided meditation allows your mind to follow the words to a story, allowing you to disengage for a short period from your average daily routine.

When your mind is being diverted, your body is submitting to relaxation and your eleven systems can concentrate on your health and well being. When you commit to practice, you will only need a minute to calm down toward your curative parasympathetic nervous division.
Certain benefits from meditation will be palpable and instantaneous. You will find your breathing becoming deeper; you will feel less weighted and rejuvenated. However, the secret benefits you derive from meditation work quietly in the shadows of your physiology – longevity and quality health.

Be certain of this, guided meditation is great for a person. Do more than understand that balance is vital to your life – put it into practice. Find ten minutes – three times each day and make a difference in your life that you will feel immediately.

China is known for having a rich history in spirituality. The various traditions, disciplines and practices to refine and improve the inner spirit of a person are seemingly common for Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism. A very well known practice is Qigong.

In order to derive spiritual attainment Qigong is a critical practice. It helps to develop your inner being. In this perspective, the body is a figurative representation of the whole universe. In modern science holograms can metaphorically be compared to how an individual is positioned but as in the entire cosmos. A simple description of Qigong is that it is a way to refine the body with pure energy.

In this very practice, acupuncture plays a fundamental role. It is a channel used to assure that energy penetrates into the microcosmic. Opening small gates allows the Qi to be developed and to circulate. This energy is spread to other circuits, and known as the circulation of light. All the organs, tissues, cells are to feel the light circulating. The focus is on the individual as the universe renders the body flesh secondary. The energy resonating within the individual is the core focus.

Moreover, any individual in a Qigong state experiences a mass of energy that is manifested in the physical body. The body becomes refined as the light energy resonates within the person.

Science has revealed that energy is a complex discipline of study. The post Einsteinian physics view on energy confirms the dynamic relationship exists between various sources of energy and molecules. Therefore, it is rational that the traditional Qigong works as well as typical breathing techniques that decrease the blood pressure.

Some writers explain Qigong as a way of enlightening the body and going beyond opposition. Our body’s primal spirit does successfully transcend polar differences such as darkness and light as human unveils their nature. The energy is strong enough to heal multiple aspects of aging and human health.

Furthermore, clinical studies support the fact that Qigong improves the health of people. It can alleviate various medical conditions, which are at the heart of solving the struggle against the aging process. Qigong enhances various functions of the body and therefore can even go to the extent of reversing aging.

Clinical studies propose that Qigong therapy combined with medical drugs are better than simply going for a drug therapy. This was especially shown in the case when an individual suffered from two diseases like cancer and hypertension. It is suggested that Qigong therapy can be used to complement western medicine. It can therefore act as a means to improve the healthcare system.
