Typical antioxidants and dark chocolate are found in raw cacao. Consuming this source of fresh chocolate source of antioxidant contains:

1.	Oligomeric Procynanidins
2.	Resveratrol
3.	Polyphenols
4.	Catechin
5.	Epicatechin
6.	Vitamin C
7.	Omega 6 fatty acids – if heated it will turn into rancid and become a source of inflammation
8.	Phenethylamine – PEA a the neurotransimitter associated to love
9. Serotonin
10.	Tryptophan – A amino acid which people who consume cooked food usually lack.

Typical chocolate bars have some rather negative attirubtes such as causing diabetes, weight gain and cavities. These side-effects are commonly linked with the fillers used in the mixture of dark chocolate like sugar and diary. On the other hand, when chocolate is in its initial form (raw cocao beans, nibs and beans) the health benefits are weight loss ( coumarin and chromium initiate this effect), avoids cavities (Theobromine eliminates streptococci mutans one of the bacteria that produces tooth decay) as well as control blood sugar (done by chromium) which is is positive for diabetics. It should be noted that raw cacao has positive benefits to the the cardiovascular system as well.

One of the best sources of magnesium is cacao, and this is also known to be the mineral that is insufficient in modern diets. Magnesium has several benefits. It enhances peristalsis in the bowels, relaxes muscles and softens the cardiovascular system. In a series of studies, it has been proven that dark chocolate does dissolve plaques that are formed in the arteries. This process does literally help to avoid heart disease and does naturally regulate the blood pressure.

Dark chocolate does still have several health benefits but the intensity of antioxidants like chatechins, epichatehins, procyanidins and resveratrol are much higher in raw chocolate nibs.

Raw chocolate is the highest source of antioxidant amidst food available. In the list of other foods that are rich in antioxidants we have red wine, blueberries, and green tea. There are also spices and herbs such as cinnamon and chaga mushrooms that have a high level of antioxidant as well. Consuming varied type of antioxidants targets specific parts of the body.

Based on a phyto-chemical analysis of typical cacao beans; it is found that raw chocolate might be the most chemically complex food components on the planet. Unfortunately, in the cooking process antioxidants are degraded.

For Longevity in each diet the below component should be present:
1.	Anandamide – a neurotransmitter which activates feeling of ‘bliss’
2.	Serontonin – protects one against stress by inducing good feelings
3.	Dopamine – a neurotransmitter good for pleasure and motivation
4.	MAO Inhibitors – avoids side-effects of dopamine and serotonin
5.	Coumarin – regulates blood, acts as an appetite suppressant and contains anti-tumor properties.
6.	Asparaginase – An enzyme containing anti-leukemia attributes
7.	Ergosterol – a product of Vitamin D
8.	Sitosterol – Reduces LDL cholesterol

The compact intensity of nutrients in raw cacao supports proper functioning of the body. In addition, it is the best source of chromium and magnesium. Most human suffer from magnesium deficiency so raw cacao is an important ingredient to consume.

The list below shows other antioxidants in cacao:

1.	Vitamin A
2.	Vitamin B (1, 2, 3, 5 and 6)
3.	Vitamin C
4.	Magnesium
5.	Vitamin E
6.	Copper
7.	Manganese
8.	Calcium
9.	Zinc
10.	Iron
11.	Sulphur
12.	Phosphorus
13.	Chromium
14.	Omega 6 Fatty Acids
15.	Amino Acids
16.	Saturated Fats
17.	Carbohydrates
18.	Enzymes – such as lipase, catalyse and amylase
19.	Soluble fiber
20.	Phytonutrients

There are legends suggesting that not only one person but several iconic figures in human history have lived beyond a hundred and fifty years. One such legend is the Mr. Li Qing Yun, who was born in 1677 and died in 1933. He was so called herbal expert, tactical consultant, qigong master or simply a Chinese Medicine Physician. According to the belief, he lived during nine emperors of the period of Qing Dynasty and was said to have lived to 256 years.

In the Time Magazine, in May 1933, the secret of why Li was able to live long was explained in an article entitled “Tortoise-Pigeon-Dog”. The key to longevity was defined by four behaviours:

1.	Maintain a quiet heart
2.	Be idle like a tortoise
3.	Move actively like the pigeon
4.	Rest like a Dog

It was believed that Mr. Li has some uncommon habits. He abstained drinking, smoking and had his meals only on particular times. In addition, he was a vegetarian and did often drink wolfberry tea.

In his lifestyle, he did also have a regulated sleeping pattern, sleeping early and waking up early. As when time permitted him, he sat straight with closed eyes and his hands on the lap, motionless for hours.

On free-time, he played cards and lost enough money for his counterpart to buy a meal for the day. He was loved by everyone thanks to his generous behaviour.

As education, Mr. Li devoted his time to scrutinize Chinese herbs to try to reveal the secrets of longevity. It involved travelling to various Provinces in China and going even as far as to Thailand to find herbs to cure illnesses.

Of course, it is still unknown whether Mr. Li really lived as long as claimed. But what we do know about him, is that his finding matches modern research done on herbs supporting longevity.

Modern Research

In 2009, the book “ The Blue Zones” were written by Dan Buettner. The subtitle of the book was: “Lessons for Living Longer from the People, Who’ve Lived The Longest” explored condition which promoted longevity across cultures, populations, geographic location and lifestyles from all over the world.

It included groups such as: Okinawans, Costa Ricans, Sardinians, and the Californian Adventists, who actually have the highest rate of people reaching their 100th birthday. In these areas which Dan Buettner named as “blue zones” people do on average live at least 12 years more than the average.

In the research carried-out by Buettner, there were herbal similarities to all the blue-zone groups, meaning that all blue zones had a diet emphasized on legumes. For example, the Adventists in Loma Linda, California ate a high amount of greens & legumes, as stated in the Bible. The Sardinians ate whole-grain bread, special wine, and cheese produced from fresh grass-fed animals.

As a conclusion, the research suggested that low-calorie diets extend the lifespan of people in these regions. The okinawans, they do strictly follow Confucian rule of only eating until the stomach is 80 percent full.

For Mr Li, the wolfberry tea must have helped him to live to an advanced age. Specialists from France and Britain were extremely fascinated by Li’s longevity and decided to conduct elaborate research on wolfberry. Surprisingly, a new vitamin named “vitamin X” or so called “beauty vitamin” was found. Their study concluded that wolfberry stops the accumulation of fat as well as encourage the development of new liver cells, lower cholesterol and blood glucose… and the list goes on.

Wolfberry has a rejuvenation role: it boosts up endocrine glands and brain cells; improves the production of hormones; eliminate toxins that are formed in the blood, this assures that the body sustains its typical function of tissues and organs.

Meditation

In addition, to consuming tea, an exercise that usually follows is meditation. From the University of Massachusetts Medical School, neuroscientists carried out an experiment on highly stressed technology-related employees. The employees were split into two groups; one of the groups was said to meditate for eight weeks while the second group continued to work in their stress.

In the research published in Psychology 2003 “showed a pronounced shift in activity to the left frontal lobe.” Such change in mental focus reduces the bad effects of stress, anxiety and mild depression. It was also noted that there was a lower activity level in the amygdale, a region where the brain deals with fear.

Apart from only being a stress relief, mediation improves mood and inhibits the speed at which the brain shrinks while aging.

From Buettner’s Blue Zone research, it was found that relaxation time does significantly reduce inflammation, a product of stress. As for the Adventists in California who preserved their 24-hour Sabbath day had a time to pray, reflect and to have fun within their social circles.

Longevity & Society

According to Buettner’s research, the society in which you live in does influence how long you live. For instance, Okinawans have many friends and with whom they like to share everything with. The Sardinian show great respect to elders and the Adventists are highly family oritented.

The study suggests that sense of belonging with family and healthy friends encouraging people to live healthy, actually support longevity.

The so Rosetans, which is an Italian group of people who has migrated to Bangor, Pennsylvania, has a low risk of heart diseases. This was found in a study carried out by Malcolm. Apparently, it was neither their diet nor gene that supported their remarkable healthy survival rate.

The secret of the Rosetans potential to live longer was the social structure that isolates them from the stress of the modern world. The environment and surrounding that they had created supported their health.

Buettner’s study also found that across the blue-zone, people weren’t interested in retirement. Their emphasis was on continuing to do what they were already doing.

For the Sardinians as well as Okinwans the sunset years represent the symbol of purpose of life. In these areas, centenarians were seen climbing hills and climbing. Contrary, to the western civilisation who exercise for a purpose, these centenarians simply have an active life.

A research reported on 1st November 2011, for the very first time that a red-wine compound exhibited hopeful health benefits when tested on humans. This relatively small study had eleven participants, who were greatly overweight but healthy. It was observed that consuming low dosage of Resveratrol, the red-wine compound, for 30 days led to several improvements on their metabolic systems.

Patrick Schrauwen from Maastricht University, who headed this research, which was published in the online version of the journal named Cell Metabolism. They result of the study was considered highly interesting. He said that the research team discovered several effects, and all indicated hopes of improved metabolism in humans.

Resveratrol has interested scientists since its effect on substances such as yeast, mice and fruit flies resulted in benefits similar to those of a diet; increase the life span of several different species. In order to live longer and better, some people self-impose strict restrictions on the intake of calories. However, few people can put up with such restrictions.

Mice were also reported to have experienced protective benefits from Resveratrol such as resistance against diabetes and obesity. It also increased their enduring capacity and made them less prone to being overweight, thereby inducing longevity.

Some scientists felt that the fact that French people lead a long life in spite of eating heavy fats, also known as the “French Paradox,” might be explained by the effects of Resveratrol found in red wine.

Resveratrol, which is a commonly available drug in pharmacies and groceries, is being consumed regularly by some people. However, its expected benefits to humans were never established formally. Scientists haven’t really comprehended if there is any risk associated in consuming high dosage of resveratrol. Researchers even doubted the validity of early research on Resveratrol.

The healthy but obese men were given a placebo or Resveratrol dose of 150 mg for a month by Schrauwen in the latest study. He then moved those on Resveratrol to placebo and vice-versa, for the next 30 days. At the time of every change, the effect on their metabolism was examined by a series of elaborate tests.

Effects similar to those observed in animals, such as, reducing the rate of metabolism, stopping the fat from accumulating in the liver, reduced levels of blood sugar, blood pressure, inflammation and triglycerides, and improving muscle efficiency were observed in humans treated with Resveratrol. There were no specific side effects reported.

National Institute of Aging scientist Rafael de Cabo, who has been experimenting with effect of Resveratrol in apes, finds this to convey immense promise and significant development.

It was observed by the experts that the amount of Resveratrol used in the ape trials was less than that what consumed by most people daily. To equal the effect, a minimum of two gallons of red wine was given to the apes.

Other experts who are also conducting studies on Resveratrol as well as another protein enhancing compounds known as Sirtuins, have appreciated the findings of this study.

David A. Sinclair from Harvard Medical School said that this study has emerged at a time when diabetes and obesity have reached an alarming level and are still growing. Sirtuins seem to be a promising intervention to people who are obese and practices no physical activities.

Leonard P. Guarante, a researcher studying the phenomenon of aging at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, stressed the importance of this research on Sirtuins, which strongly endeavors to establish the scope of Sirtuins as the latest way to combat human ailments.

However, Schrauwen and other scientists warned that, in order to confirm Resveratrol’s long-term health benefits to people who are not obese is real more research need to be conducted. The study needs to be followed with more subjects and wider sample studies.

Stephen Helfand from Brown University said that it may seem a bit early now; a day will soon come when the human race will be looking back at the stage when Resveratrol was just discovered. To see the astounding progress in medical science, especially on anti-aging medicine, that grape medicine has. People will consider it as a significant point in the history of anti-aging research.

Helfand said that this discovery of molecules, which are creating such powerful benefits towards disorders of aging and increasing longevity, are crucial for aging research. This may also be regarded as significant as the advent of antibiotics as means to cure infectious diseases. Helfand considered it to be extraordinary to be a part of the aging biology research.

Modern communities have during the recent years experienced heightening incidences of insomnia, auto-immune conditions, chronic diseases and allergies. There are rising belief amidst scientists that the immune functioning of our body is depended on our exposure to earth’s energy.

Our immune system has been evolving for millions of years. We started walking barefoot having immediate contact to the earth. However, in contemporary society, there are no one who walk barefoot. People use shoes and that separate us from the earth’s energy.

The concept known as ‘earthing’ is one of the safest anti-aging cures. It doesn’t use any sort of technology. The concept is about having the human body to touch the surface of the earth. In such a way that electrons are transmitted from the earth to the body.

The ground can absorb and eliminates electrical charges, as it is a conductive object. In other words, unwanted or excess electrical charges can be drained to the earth.

A recent study, which started some 10 years ago, shows that it is important to earth the human body. It plays a fundamental role in improving functioning, reducing inflammation and prevents bad physiological processes. Earthing produces a positive change in the state of electrical currents inducing a self-regulating and self-healing taxonomy.

What is known?

1.	Earthing permit electrons to be transferred to the body
2.	Inflammation are produced from free Radicals
3.	Electrons can neutralize free radicals (irrespective of the source of the electrons)
4.	Electrons constitute antioxidants power to neutralize.

Electron deficiency can cause pain, inflammation and sickness. Studies show that earth’s ground might be one of the best natural anti-inflammatory and antioxidants available.

Earthing?

Earthing is a simple process of simply walking barefoot or even working, sleeping or sitting on the ground. In contrary to our typical modern lifestyle which is disconnected from the earth, we are separated from the earth, as we rarely touch the ground. If it is our socks, it is our sandals or shoes.

Those who have incorporated earthing into their daily routine life has reported the following benefits:

1.	Improved Blood pressure
2.	Less headache – Stress – muscle tension
3.	Better sleep
4.	More energy
5.	Less inflammation (inflammation is the cause of several chronic illnesses)
6.	Reduces menstrual and hormonal symptoms
7.	Promote better respiratory, immune, digestive and cardiovascular system

Earthing is something very simple and is good for various human physiologies. This is a revolutionary approach that brings us back to our adjustable evolution.

Do earthing whether you are sick or well, you can take a swim in the ocean or simply walk around. It is naturally good for your health. Note that we all benefits, but the result might vary from one individual to another. There are those who benefit immediately, other gradually.

A few years ago, sirutins were found to be an ideal solution for expanding life span and fight age related disease. Scientists had declared this enzyme as a source to delay aging, and had recommended moderate consumption of red grape, red wine, blackberry, dates, etc. – every fruit that nature dressed up in a color near to black. The theory has recently received a serious blow: it was found to be untrue.

Recently, medical studies have discovered that resveratrol expand lifespan; statistics revealing that populations living in rural areas and who consume resveratrol a substance found in red grape skin and red wine. It can actually expand life span, and that is due to the consequence of sirtuin enzyme levels boosting. The same research discovered that Sirtuin effect is also amplified by calorie restriction – a diet known to extend lifespan of not only lab animals, but also of humans.

The discovery was a hit for the medical media, and Sirtris Pharmaceuticals founded in Cambridge, Massachusetts, expected a big time medical turnover, Sirtris Pharmaceuticals was producing Synthetic Sirtuin Activating Compounds (STACs); they are more powerful than resveratrol. The aim of the company was to treat age-related disorders such as type 2 diabetes and vascular diseases. Eventually, this same company was purchased by the pharmaceutical mammoth GlaxoSmithKline for a sum equivalent to $720 million, in 2008.

GSK competes with companies, such as Amgen and Pfizer. These companies made aggressive research in order to show that Sirtris Pharmaceuticals’ new drug, called Sirtis wasn’t as perfect as suggested. They claim the results were far from expected and that Sirtis induced side effects. GSK accused the two companies’ researchers of providing inaccurate information, which could act as a hinder for emerging biology and scientific development in the field of medicine.
.
On the same path of proof-experimenting, a group of the University College London has found that nematode worms and fruit flies, genetically modified to develop more of key sirtuins, display longevity but due to factors not really associated with genetics.

Company repeatedly, cross-bred common nematodes with a strain having been customized in such a manner to enhance the expression of sirtuin gene sir-2.1. The process – known as backcrossing – helps to eliminate influences from other genetic differences. Backcrossed nematodes continued to produce higher quantities of the SIR-2.1 enzyme, but they didn’t live longer than the average worms.

Other studies revealed that presumed longevity was linked to genetic differences. For example, previously noticed increase in fruit fly lifespan – linked to over-expressing dSir2 (the equivalent to sir-2.1 in flies), went off when the British scientist backcrossed the modified flies with common ones. Their research was replicated in a number of different labs, to prevent errors.

From the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Scott Pletcher says that this study does significantly prove that background control is very important in research of new medications.

GSK as a response said that sirtuins hasn’t been considered as a way to increase longevity. The role that sirtuins has in preventing diseases and improving human health is something different from low simple organisms.

Despite the controversy, several animal studies suggest that STACs can extend lifespan of obese mice. Scientists are divided in Pros and Cons, depending on their employer’s side. For now though, don’t rely on any part’s theory: none of them suggested that red fruits and red wine are poisoning

A recent newsletter of the International Plant Nutrition Institute underlined how crops nutrition can raise their content in major categories of proteins, vitamins and minerals.

The use of management tools can help farmers in diminishing the environmental impact. These tools allow the optimum source, timing and placement of fertilizers – nitrogen and other proteins, vitamins and minerals – in order to improve the quality of the products.

The nutritional value of nitrogen fertilizers used on corn and wheat has scientifically been proven, but the process needs some work. Nitrogen is a major component of proteins; cereals such as corn and wheat register higher amounts of protein produced after being treated with fertilizers. IPNI stated that corn and wheat nutritional value should be limited to lowering lysine – an essential amino acid. Another advantage of using nitrogen fertilizers is the increased concentrations of carotenoids; hence, increased health-potential and market values of fruits and vegetables.

IPNI also states that colour, texture, sweetness, folic acid, beta-carotene and vitamin C contents of watermelons and cantaloupes muskmelons is enhanced after potassium and sulphur use. In the same time, soybeans isoflavone, as well as tomatoes and grapefruits lycopene content increases are evident.

According to IPNI, third world countries such as Nigeria and Bangladesh – with a high rate of malnutrition – need to improve crops quality by nutrient supplements. They also need to become aware of the positive impact that plant nutrition has on human health, as the only way to upgrade their agricultural systems.

Upgrading crops can help people in developing countries to live longer.

You stared in the mirror one day to the reflection of a wrinkled, haggard face and graying hair; and that was when reality hits you hard that your body is gradually surrendering to your increasing age. Not to mention, your cell system is becoming less responsive. A unique class of cells, known as adult stem cells, is essential in regenerating torn and aged tissues, but unfortunately, these cells are not exempt from the process of aging. Stem Cell 100TM may be able to relieve your frustration over your aging body. After several research studies on stem cells, telomeres and genes, Stem Cell 100TM is invented to regenerate adult stem cells and their microenvironments, which ultimately promotes anti-aging and rejuvenation – giving you a youthful, vibrant and healthy look.

Slowing the aging process with stabilized stem cells

A majority of people are forced to succumb to the tormenting experience of growing old and being unremittingly ill. However, scientific research shows that future regenerative medicine will be able to cure or significantly improve the health issues troubling most humans. Stem Cell 100TM moves the belief of the scientific community a step closer to reality by providing a few advantages of current stem cell treatments via a boost in the functions of adult stem cells.

As mentioned earlier, the cell therapeutic product encourages the regeneration of adult stem cells, which is effective in maintaining “normal” blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol levels, as well as in sustaining the health of your heart, immune system, colon, prostate, pancreas and breasts. A healthy inner body will eventually lead to a radiant skin complexion, improved focus and memory, and better stamina.

Stem Cell 100TM aims to reverse the negative effects of aging and help the body recover the regenerative ability similar to that of a child – fast, efficient mending and renewal of damaged tissues due to youthful regenerative stem cells – by “stabilizing stem cell function”. The product intends to regain a nourishing microenvironment for stem cells to improve their growth and ability to patch up damages, of which under normal circumstances, will deplete as we age.

Comparing Stem Cell 100TM with other commercial cell therapeutic products

Unlike other stem cell products in the market which accelerate or increase stem cell production, Stem Cell 100TM enhances instead, the efficiency and durability of stem cells, and at the same time, maintaining the microenvironment around them. It is deemed as a more successful stem cell treatment as the number of stem cells in a person’s body is rather inadequate, thus hastening their use in stem cell production may not be a decent approach.

The effects of Stem Cell 100TM on an animal model

Both normal and maximum life expectancy of the Drosophila (fruit fly) species was significantly prolonged during a massive experiment on Stem Cell 100TM. Six cages of fruit flies were involved in the research, of which Cages T1 to T3 were treated with Stem Cell 100TM and with Cages, C1 to C3 acting as untreated controls. Five hundred fruit flies (250 males and 250 females) were released into each enclosure at the beginning of the experiment. The end results proved that the product had “more than doubled” the average life expectancy of the Drosophila species with a 123 percent boost.

Indirectly, the study predicted the product’s ability to increase the median lifespan of mankind to 167 years. Fruit flies were used in this laboratory test due to the similarities they share with humans – a cardiovascular system with cardiac arrest being their leading cause of death, and a difficult-to-expand life expectancy. The findings surpass all other anti-aging therapies that have been previously assessed, which include genes alterations and diet control.

The fruit flies that were treated with the Stem Cell 100TM had a boast in their maximum life expectancy with 89 days, whereas the untreated controls only managed to live to a maximum of 48 days. The outcome showed an 85 percent raise in the maximum lift expectancy of fruit flies, which is the same as a person extending his life to 191 years. It is true that other possibilities may have caused the sole longest living Drosophila to survive longer, for example genetic mutation. However, the scenario was not abnormal, because several other fruit flies had managed to live nearly the same number of days. The eldest of the treated Drosophila, which constituted 5 percent of the entire group, had a 77 percent longer life than the eldest 5 percent of the untreated controls.

In addition, the research also demonstrated an enhancement in the capability of the Drosophila species to endure anxiety and disease at all life stages. The early days of the research had already depicted an obvious increase in the number of treated fruit flies that managed to live to adulthood as compared to the untreated controls.

Stem Cell 100¬TM and its four patent-pending herbal components

Stem Cell 100TM consists of elements from four important natural herbs that are commonly extracted for their active ingredients that regenerate adult stem cells and reduce inflammatory response – Astragalus membranaceus, Pterocarpus marsupium (Indian Kino tree), Pine Bark and Camellia sinesis. Polysaccharides, flavonoids, and astragalosides are extracted from Astragalus membranaceus, and are useful in maintaining stem cells, as well as the cardiovascular and immune systems. Marsupsin and pterostilbene, however, are two “stable resveratrol analogs” extracted from Pterocarpus marsupium (Indian Kino tree), which encourage stem cell growth, reduce inflammatory response and stabilize the metabolism level.

Pine Bark extracts contain Flavonoids and oligo-proanthocyanidins (OPCs), which can prevent reactive oxygen species imbalance, and lower DNA damage and inflammatory response. Camellia sinesis, which is the last of four herbs mentioned, contains a natural amino acid named L-Theanine that promotes stress and inflammation reduction, and at the same time, enhance the human learning abilities while preventing ischemic or toxic brain injury.

Potential users

Stem Cell 100TM can be consumed by the adult age group of 22 years or more. Younger users, particularly those in their 20s and 30s, will enjoy the improvement in stamina during intense exercise routines, whereas elder consumers will benefit from their noticeably healthier and energetic lives.

Scientists have been doing research on nature for a long time; one such research is being done by scientists from Italy, Spain, U. S. and Australia. They found that extra virgin olive oil is good for health, as well as for other benefits such as reducing the pain and inflammation. The oil gives lots of energy and has a good flavor. You can say that olive oil is a food medicine leaving a good effect on your body.

Mythical, Sacred Oil

In ancient Greece the oil was considered as sacred, according to Greeks the branch of olive tree represented peace in the Hellenic society. The oil was for the first time discovered in 1901 at “Room of the Olive Press” which is found on the Island of Crete, knossos in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. Olives from such areas were extracted into oil since 4,500 years ago. This olive oil was also exported to Greece and North Africa. Olive tree was planted in large quantities around the Mediterranean where it grew along with early civilizations. Early literature from Christianity and Judaism describe Olive oil as the holy oil.

These days olive oil is produced in Spain, Italy, Greece, Tunisia, Turkey, Morocco, and Syria in large amounts. The popularity of olive oil has led to a worldwide cultivation in countries like the U.S., Chile, and South Africa. Australia. These countries have now become the biggest exporters of this oil.

Olive tree can bear hot weather, and it doesn’t need that much water. This is the main reason of its origin in Mediterranean region. Cold weather, on the other hand, is not good for it.

Olive Oil is good for Health

Olive oil exists in various chemical combinations. Extra virgin olive oil is the type used for cooking and eating purpose. It can be used in meals to protect us from diseases as arthritis, cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol and pain. A study from Spain found that olive oil can help to maintain healthy weight. Another research from the universities of Navarra and Las Palmas de Grin Canaria in Spain found that diets, including olive oil can protect from depression while equally eliminating fats associated with depression..

The Natural Painkiller Feature in Olive Oil

A new research has found that the antioxidant called oleocanthal is present in extra virgin olive oil. Scientists from Monell Chemical Senses Center, in Philadelphia, noticed that oleocanthal in olive oil had ability similar to that of ibuprofen; a medicine that reduces the cyclooxygenase enzyme that causes pain and inflammation.

These findings were also published in the science magazine Nature. Pain killers have several negative effects, but olive oil can be more effective for pain reducing purpose as it is a natural compound.

A second research by the Italian researchers describes that the qualities as pungent and bitter taste of virgin olive oil was induced thanks to phenols in the oil. This is what produced this antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, chemo preventive and the anti-cancer benefits.

Research on Health Benefits of Olive Oil

An “International conference on the healthy effect of virgin olive oil” was held in Spain in 2005. There were several benefits of virgin olive oil regarding cardiovascular health, cancer and longevity discussed in the meeting. The researchers said that ‘new studies are constantly claiming that the Mediterranean diet, having virgin olive oil, is attuned with an increased longevity and healthiness’.

Taking olive oil is linked with:

•	Cholesterol reduction

•	Prevention from the Metabolic Syndrome a syndrome that increases the risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity.

•	Lower risk of cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure and Alzheimer’s disease.

The Antioxidant Strength of Pure Olive Oil

Phenolic is an antioxidant found in virgin as well as extra-virgin olive oil. This element gives olive oils a particular taste as well as energy.

Studies indicate these elements may be able to:

•	Decrease a kind of inflammation that causes coronary heart disease.
•	Decrease the growth of inflammatory chemicals called thromboxanes and leukotrienes.

•	Decrease the growth of the most damaging form of cholesterol, known as oxidized – LDL – cholesterol.

•	The researchers from the University of South Australia found that the elements from the olive were discovered to be antimicrobial towards a degree of bacteria.

Eat More Olive Oil

While buying oil you should consider that it is free from pesticides. As freshness is an important factor. For inflammation purpose only two teaspoons of olive oil are enough. It is also good for salad dressing and can be used on bread too, as it is healthier than butter. It is as good for baking.

A good recipe of olive oil

Ingredients for Pomegranate Lime Dressing; Pomegranate juice is a remarkable source of flavonoids, which help to prevent inflammation.
-	One teaspoon extra virgin olive oil + Juice of 1/2 lime
-	One tablespoon unsweetened pomegranate juice
In a jar, mix together the lime juice, pomegranate juice with some extra virgin olive oil and you have a healthy salad dressing.

Drink tea for a longer life. It’s one of the statements supported by nutritionist Leslie Beck in her book “Longevity Diet”, one of the most recent of 10 she’s published on nutrition. Tea, according to her, is one of the 25 “longevity” foods.

There are a lot of evidence, Beck states, that tea (which comes from the plant “Camella sinensis”) contains extremely abundant phytochemicals called catechins, which are flavonoids with powerful antioxidant properties.

According to her, In the North American diet, one of the best sources for antioxidants is tea – it is known to be better than vegetables and fruits (but they have a lot of health benefits all on their own). For instance, some interesting facts concerning the amount of antioxidant content: Two cups of black tea, one glass of red wine, seven glasses of orange juice and 20 glasses of apple. And likewise, the catechins found in tea are more potent than that of vitamins C and E.

What’s more, green tea has been the first food recognized by Health Canada for its antioxidant properties, claimed by the Tea Association of Canada.

Beck mentioned a few examples of research supporting the benefits of tea-drinking: 61,057 Swedish women ranging from 40-76 years old, participated in a 15-year research, drinking two cups of tea daily in comparison with less than a cup each month, was linked to a 46% lesser chance of developing ovarian cancer. Also, a number of similar studies confirmed that green tea gives protection against breast cancer. Meanwhile, another research claimed green tea helped lower the risk of hypertension of about 46% participants who drank less than half a cup up to as much as over two cups a day.

With all the healthy benefits attached to drinking tea, why is Vancouver not brimming with tea shops? Why are we such a coffee-dominated society? That was a question addressed to Garett Chan, who owns a retail and wholesale tea company based in Vancouver, called T. After 17 years of business, the retail shop will be closing at the end of the month when its lease expires. There is no information yet whether they will reopen in Vancouver or in another location.

However, T. has grown to dominate the distribution of high-quality teas in most luxury hotel groups worldwide (except for 3) and 99% of the business sales cater to international clients.

Chan explains that creating a culture of tea-drinking is a little difficult to achieve because of the market. Coffee shops thrive since they have to take out options and charge a high price for their coffees. Meanwhile, Tea is acknowledged as Zen. It doesn’t mesh well with the hustle and bustle of our society, so it will be difficult to change that way of thinking.

Even people enjoy a good health can experience bothersome minor pains and aches from time to time. The majority of us have the tendency to simply ignore them or slowly learn to live with them. Nonetheless, for five to ten percent of the people who suffer from hypochondria these little aches are blown out of proportion into serious illnesses.

In their mind even a simple headache takes the form of a brain tumor. They will consider a cough to be a lung cancer and a minor indigestion will mean suffering from heart disease. Hypochondriacs are frequently dismissed as being neurotic time-wasters. However, their continued anxiety and fixation on their health can in fact prove to be as disabling as any other real physical disease.

In accordance to a clinical psychologist and the vice president of psychology at the Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla, George Pratt, hypochondriacs are converted into their symptoms. Hypochondriacs are inappropriately anxious about their health to this extent that it comes in between their normal living and becomes a self-fulfilling prediction.

The majority of the symptoms that hypochondriacs experience are physical sensations due to depression or anxiety that forms part of hypochondria. The continued anxiety can discharge dangerous stress hormones and do actual physical harm.

The mere act of telling a hypochondriac that they are not really physically sick is never sufficient reassurance. They tend to doctor-hop, consulting different doctors in order to get the affirmation of their dreaded illness, thus only creating even more frustration and worry.

In line with a clinical psychologist from the Center for Stress and Anxiety Management, Mission Valley, Jill Stoddard, hypochondriacs may get themselves examined for every disease they believe that they have, and feel temporarily reassured when the results are in their favor, but they will soon start to believe that they are yet affected by some other disease.

Moreover there is another side of hypochondria; it regards those people who are so scared that they are seriously ill that they will never approach a medical practitioner or get a test done for fear that they will not be able to hear and bear the bad news.

Hypochondria is thought to be a psychological disorder or a somatoform disorder that have physical symptoms. Both men and women can suffer from hypochondria. While this disorder can be developed at any age, in most cases it starts in early adulthood.

Even though this disorder does not appear to have any genetic connection, hypochondria may be set off by life events and experiences. It has been noticed that in situations when a close family member or someone very close dies or is very ill, an individual may begin to experience symptoms of hypochondria. In addition, when a loved one dies at a very early stage in life, the risk of suffering from hypochondria seems to increase. Estimates show that nearly ten percent of the total visits to primary-care physicians might be due to hypochondrical fears.

Moreover, nowadays with the Internet facility and medical research, hypochondriacs are able to search the Internet regarding any medical problem that they may feel they are experience. They can easily self-diagnose themselves with a few mouse clicks. This phenomenon is commonly termed as cyberchondria. That is not all, the commercials meant for the pharmaceuticals also do its best to name each possible side effect; as such, the hypochondriacs have thousands of diseases to obsess over! Pratt states that there are a number of people who spend their time searching and scanning for these for hours and hours. This can turn really devastating. While it is good to have a good awareness of health issues, one should not spend all his time preoccupying himself about them.
