Practical Strategies For An Improved Lifestyle

Who among us does not want to improve their happiness quotient and experience life with a new attitude? Perhaps this is something you strive for but simply do not have the time or patience to put a plan into practice. Even doing little things to change your life can have an impact on it overall. However, what would those things be and will they really work? What follows is a list of things that are guaranteed to improve the caliber of the life you are now leading.

There are a number of simple and practical ways you can bring about a better life for yourself without having to think to hard about it. If you practice only a couple of these ideas faithfully, you will find that your life is improving.

• Get out and get some fresh air regardless of the season. Taking a ten to thirty minute walk daily will improve your health and enhance your outlook. Make an effort to only think about positive things while walking and smile the entire time. You will feel great!
• Try and have some quiet time each day when you can sit in silence and meditate, pray or just get in touch with your soul. Be sure that everyone knows this is YOUR time and to leave you alone.
• Instead of staying up late always to watch your favorite TV programs, tape them and watch them at a suitable hour another time. You need your sleep.
• Greet each day with an intention to do something useful. When you wake up every morning, ask yourself what the purpose of that day will be. Place the question on your bedroom mirror.
• Pursue life by following the three E’s, [Energy – Enthusiasm – Empathy]
• Promise yourself you will read more and play more from this day forward. Buy some books and some games if necessary.
• If possible spend a bit of time with elderly people, say over seventy years old and kids under age six. Observe them for their authentic character, innocence and in the case of seniors, their experience and tolerance.
• Try and experience more dreams while conscious so you can entertain their potential.
• Try to consume more foods that are organic and eat something that had its origin from the earth rather than from a factory.
• Ingest green tea and an abundance of water. Consume berries, Salmon, broccoli, almonds and various nuts for their antioxidant benefits.
• See if you can make a few people smile or laugh each day. Humor is good for people.
• Clean up the mess that is in your car, your office, your home, garage etc and set the stage for renewed vigor in your life.
• Refrain from negative thinking, gossip, past concerns or that which is not in your control. Live in the now and prepare for the future, but don not worry over what is to come.
• Understand that life is a series of lessons and you are the student. Life hassles are simply subject manner you must study even though they fade in the daily crush, these lessons can be called upon at your favor.
• Be sure to eat your three squares a day and start with a healthy breakfast, a suitably light lunch and a healthy but modest dinner.
• Endeavor to be more pleasant each day. Make people wonder what you have that they don’t!
• No one ever said life was fair. Life is as good as you would like it be.
• Do not go through life hating anybody. It is a total waste of spirit and positive energy.
• Try not to take yourself too seriously. Lighten up and people will like you more.
• It is not important to win every argument you engage in. Simply agree to disagree on the subject.
• Forgive yourself for past transgressions so you can more easily move forward with your life.
• Never compare your life with someone else’s. Everyone has a journey and you have no idea what his or hers was like.
• You alone are responsible for your happiness and only you can do anything about it.
• When trouble strikes, always ask yourself if any of it will really matter in five years.
• Forgiveness for everyone for anything and you will be freeing yourself to move on with your life.
• Do not be concerned with what others think of you. It really does not matter in the large scheme of things.
• Never get too high or too low about things. Good or bad, whatever is going on now is guaranteed to change sooner or later.
• Allow nature a chance to heal everything.
• There is more to life than your job. Try to be identified for more than what you do from nine to five.
• A true friend stands with you when no one else will.
• Anything that does not bring joy, beauty or usefulness should be thrown away.
• Be happy with what you have and try not to change if you end up with more.
• Always believe that the best is still coming in your life.
• Regardless of how you are feeling, wake up, dress up and show up!
• Always do what is right, even if it seems wrong.
• Stay in touch with your family and friends. Pick up the phone and have a chat, send them an email or mail them a card just because you feel like it.
• Every night before you fall asleep, give thanks for the day you just completed and take inventory of your accomplishments.
• Always remember that you are way too blessed to be stressed.
• When you go to bed at night and you cannot get to sleep. Try counting your blessings instead of sheep.
• If you lie awake, breathe deeply while telling yourself there is nothing more important in your life right then as getting a good sleep.
• Since life is an adventure, make the most of it. You only come this way once so enjoy everything while you can…within reason!

If you only follow one of these tips every day, at the very least you will change your life for the better, no matter how small that change is.
