New Youth Molecule Found: NAD

From the Australasian Research Institute, a study at Sydney Adventist Hospital is revealing that people start to experience major signs of aging after the age of 50 years.

Apparently, half-centenarians are in a typical phase where the body’s ability to heal itself from accumulative damage, generated by poor heating habits, lack of exercise and stress, begins to degenerate.

Dr. Ross Grant, the Institute Director said that recent studies have been emphasized on a particular molecule named NAD. It is a molecule which the body needs to produce energy, cell repair and to promote survival of the longevity gene.

According to Dr, Grant, NAD levels fall rapidly with age, and this is the first research in the world to show this correlation to aging… it must be noted that when NAD molecule levels decrease the presence of longevity enzymes are also deprived.

The positive thing is that NAD production can be stimulated. A particular way is to augment the consumption of polyphenol, present in dark-colored fruits, blueberries and vegetables.

According to Grant, this might explain why some people are able to stay young while other people age much faster.

If people are able to push up the level of NAD molecules, the body might be capable to repair, provide energy to cells and stimulate longevity genes, resulting in longer and healthier lifespans.
