Naps Have A Precious Gift To Productivity, Health & Longevity

Small naps of 10, 20 to 30 minutes a day contributes for the body to refresh and rejuvenate itself. Naps have since long been associated with health benefits even before their strength had scientifically been shown. For instance, the Latin countries are known for having; siesta a type of nap and this is saving them from dangerous killers such as heart diseases. Instead of viewing naps as being counterproductive, now research is proclaiming their effectiveness.

Interestingly, people such as Winston Churchill, Thomas Edison and Albert Einstein were all known as motivated nap takers. They liked to snooze during the day. This is far from being an obvious unproductive waste of time. Naps have been proven to increase reaction time, cognitive functioning, patience and ability to deal with stress. The ultimate result is improved general health conditions.

Ideal Naps

The question of what is an ideal nap is subjective. However, the average nap time is usually 15 to 30 minutes. It is sufficient to revive the functioning of the brain. Nevertheless, longer naps do also have further restorative benefits (Not emphasized in this article).

The modern society’s focus on “Work Hard” and “Play Hard” culture might not be a healthy one. For those who assume that resting is something done when you are dead, death might be much nearer than they think.

Moreover, the low belief in the importance of sleep in developed countries is the cause of many detrimental attributes. It provokes fatigue, affects productivity at work, safety and overall health of people. In simple terms, people who lack rest can provoke various types of accidents, being at work or any other arena. Yet on the other hand, employees who rest during the day are more motivated, energetic and enthusiastic to work.

The usual bad habit of rejuvenating through caffeine is a short-term boost and a long-term cost in terms of longevity. A restorative nap would make the whole trick. Resting for only 5 minutes is worth much. It reduces stress and nurtures relaxation.

Those who dislike napping during the day can divert to other possible alternatives such as meditation. Meditation is an effective way to relax the brain muscles and create positive energy.

Sleep is not tantamount to waste of time. It is apart from being a health assurance a method to rejuvenate our own beauty. Our juvenility and regenerative prowess to our outer skin is depended on the amount of sleep that we have.

The reasons for naps are endless. It helps to foster longevity, happiness, productivity, beauty and overall health. Sleep to live long. Instead of considering sleeping as a waste of time, it might actually add some yeas to your lifespan.
