Life Expectancy of Women Hits 80 years

There is great news for those who want to live longer. New released publications from the “Centers for Disease Control” is providing updates on the Health of Americans. Life expectancy has finally reached new heights; it the first time ever that average life expectancy of women has gone beyond 80 years and that for men to 75 years.

Life expectancy is based on average lifespan of people. It does in a simple term mean that less people die at an early age, for instance, from accidents and illnesses. Yet, the life expectancy of black and/or African Americans is still slightly below this average.

Life expectancy through the 1900 century enhanced substantially. The lifespan has increased by 30 years for Americans. According to health officials, this improvement in longevity is associated with enhanced medical diagnostic test as well as better medical facilities to cure disease.

All the information is based on latest information. The longevity report has been construed in respect to issue of death certificates.

GAP REDUCTION

The longevity gap between women and men is slowly converging. In the latest years more precisely since 1990 to 2007, American men have experienced an increase in life expectancy by 3.5 years. Women have for the same period experienced only an augmentation of 1.6 years. The same converging trend prevails for black and white Americans. This sign indicates that men will properly experience a more rapid life extension to catch-up on women longevity.

Most of the age-related diseases such as stroke, cancer, heart disease have been falling. However, infant mortality, unintentional injuries as well as chronic lower respiration disease are still fatal killers showing no signs of lessening as causes of mortality. Yet, major killers such as cancer and heart disease are becoming more treatable. This trend is attributing towards a rise in longevity.

There is slight incongruence across developed and developing countries in life expectancy. The main factors are infant mortality and other poor attributes of health service delivery.

In late-life, one should be aware of the dangerous predicament that might be faced. A simple list would set heart attack, hypertension, diabetes, renal disease, cancer, dementia and Alzheimer at the top of the list.

The benefit of longer life might only be achievable through proper lifestyle and a healthy consciousness of sensible risks of death.
