Get Rid of our determinate life span; Longevity

Having an indeterminate life span is by some people considered as a desperate call while others a scientific struggle against time. The Maximum Life Foundation has provided with a new base of knowledge from their research. They have even set an objective of making human life span infinite by as early as by year 2029. Their plan to achieve such marvelous results is yet very blurred to many.

A Longevity Summit was held early in November by Huntington Beach-Based Foundation. There was a great deal of dissimilation of research based on the possibility of enabling human to live longer by geneticists and biologists. The most astounding and momentous part of the discussion was that human life span could most probably be extended a great deal.

Ray Kurzweil, one of the members present at the Summit, said that scientists are very close to place the last piece of the puzzle and thereby soon making longevity a reality. Life expectancy will naturally increment, within 15 years from now, an additional one year of life expectancy can probably be added per year.

What we call ‘immortality’ is known as ‘longevity escape velocity’ by researchers in the field of longevity. Moreover, the conclusion of the summit was that great progress will be done during the two decades to come, and longevity escape velocity is among the possible outcomes.

Besides, the findings derived from the summit, all members present were experts in various fields. Their main common goal and commitment that clustered them together was the fight against the aging process. The methods that were considered appropriate to defeat the aging process were; chemical supplement to promote telomere lengthening; organ cryopreservation; manipulation of cell structure to improve our mitochondria; and tissue replication (stem cell therapy).

The Maximum Life Foundation, benefitted from enriching discussion on their site after the Longevity Summit. Professor of Evolutionary Biology at the University of California, Michael Rose, has made flawless research in the field. A previous research and experiment conducted on fruit flies, made them live four times longer than typical fruit flies. It is thought that hyper-longevity will soon be likelihood for humans as well.

The focus of the Summit was on the ideal possibility or so called best-case scenario to overcome the aging processes. Peter Voss, an entrepreneur said that the notion of longevity could be discovered only after advancement in artificial intelligence. The aging processes could easily be solved by expert systems or so-called high brain level machines in the near future. The boundary of possibilities could become endless afterward. The first frontier would be to create highly advanced AI systems.

Doubt was inevitably raised. Is the path to an indefinite life span really well thought? The Maximum Life Foundation portrays that the concept of living forever hasn’t yet been fully evaluated based on responds on their FAQ database. The dilemma present is whether resources should be geared to alleviate famine or solve longevity issues.

The likely answer is that knowledge will be established through longevity and this will help to tackle famine. Moreover, earth can accommodate a much larger population, through better endowment, sharing and utilization of resources.

The association is also backed with famous inventors such as Ray Kurzweil, who also considers that human longevity and immortality are feasible. However, his presence itself brings doubts as he has himself forecast breakthroughs of many utopian technologies that have not yet become a virtue of reality.

Research carried out by Maximum Life Foundation is certainly worth noting, but nothing seems to be going to be materialized before a long time from now.
