Rings under the eyes are likely the most aggravating of all beauty problems, which beset both men and women alike. Women are more likely to concern themselves with finding a solution to this common yet frustrating concern. We have discussed it before but there are never enough remedies to try that may alleviate the problem of dark circles under the eyes.
What follows are four more potential answers to the problem of removing dark under eye circles.
Many people are not aware that drinking too much caffeine or alcohol can cause dark circles, an overabundance of skin pigmentation, even allergies are likely culprits, and of course, most of us are aware that a lack of sleep will mean dark circles. These factors can assist in removing them.
Slice Up A Potato
In order to temporarily fade the dark circles you can cut up a potato into thin slices and place them on your eyes for about ten minutes. Potatoes have an enzyme in them, which lightens skin called catecholase. Let the enzyme seep into your skin and do this technique twice a week.
Try An Antihistamine
When are you noticing your dark circles appearing? Is it during a time when your allergies are raging? You should consult with your physician if this is the case. Allergens carried by the wind can cause blood to congregate in the capillaries below the skin. Add to this the rubbing of your eyes during the allergy season and these blood vessels can become bruised which leads to dark circles appearing under the eyes. A physician can put you on eye drops or give you an antihistamine to relieve eye itch and strain.
Use Several Eye Creams
Vitamin K has been used for some time as the go to treatment for lightening dark circles under your eyes. A newer study printed in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology displayed evidence that K is more effective when used in conjunction with a vitamin A derivative application [like retinol]. As a rule, retinol is applied separately, so two creams will be required. Alternating each cream every other night. A suggested formulation would be vitamin k as a topical agent and the retinol-like formula in combination on different nights.
UV Protection
Progressive sun damage can mean dark circles under eyes. Use a broad spectrum sun protection factor cream that will not cause irritation when applied around the eyes
