People are delighted to see 2011 fading away, with great optimism that 2012 will be a very good year.

According to a survey carried out by an Associated Press-GfK, it was revealed that 62 percent of the participants were optimistic about 2012, and 78 percent were highly optimistic of the New Year. This is in-line with how most of us experience New Year’s Eve, very few of us emphasis on resolution; the focus is rather on the positive things that will happen in the upcoming year.

Nevertheless, New Year’s resolutions are often only temporary targets that fade away as days go by. On the other hand, optimism does really work; it helps to instill healthy behaviours that last.

A large study involving more than 100,000 women, found that women who were optimistic had a 9 percent lower risk of suffering from heart disease and the risk of dying from any other cause was also 14 percent less, as per the eight year follow-up of the study. Women who nurtured hostile thoughts had a 16 percent higher risk of dying of any disease, over the period of the study.

There are other similar studies that have revealed similar results. In one research, it was found that optimists have a 55 percent lower risk of dying from any cause as well as 23 percent less risk of dying from heart diseases in comparison to pessimistic people Elderly men who were optimistic were 50 percent less prone to heart disease in comparison to pessimistic people, this was revealed in a 15 years study. There are dozens of study suggesting that being optimistic does really help you to stay healthy.

Social scientists say that being optimistic help to foster healthy behaviours, yet there are some negative aspects associated. Optimists do often think positively when associating health risk. For instance, they assume that their sexual partner doesn’t have STDs. The optimist may frequently undergo medical check-up just because of the presence of the positive attitude of believing that he/she is healthy.

In addition, optimists do commonly look forward to positive outcomes, yet they tend to forget to execute action to realize such outcomes. This is why optimists need a wellness coach to facilitate in the implementation of a strong healthy plan, to achieve these positive outcomes.

Nonetheless, behavioural changes from being optimistic to pessimistic alter in face of various actions. For instance, someone can be optimistic when learning about healthy behaviours and thereafter fell pessimistic and frustrated when really implementing these healthy bahaviours. Maintaining the state of thought isn’t always easy.

So in order to categories, someone as being ‘An Optimistic Individual’ scientists associated it to a assertive goal-directed behaviour and tenacity. An optimist will constantly try to succeed irrespective of the hurdles that may prevail.

People have abandoned the Paleo diet for mass produced food and a sedentary lifestyle. The Paleo diet is also called the caveman diet or Paleolithic diet. In the Hunter-gatherers society, some 2 million years ago, humans consumed natural foods; fish, meat, vegetables, fruits, nuts and eggs. It was a diet low in carbohydrates and high in proteins and animal fats. In such a society, diabetes, cancer and heart disease is believed to have been rare. The modern diet and lifestyle give people exposure to modern diseases.

In fact, it is possible to avoid the usual aging-related disease by simply adopting a healthy lifestyle and diet. Yet, the modern society tempts us to consume junk food and beverages, which are unhealthy. In addition, unhealthy food seems to be cheaper due to the mass production approach used, involving even GM foods. For the economy mass production of food is a good thing, but the real price is being paid by downgraded human health.

Government intervention on the subject of healthy food is highly subjective and distorted. It seems that the state is more interested in poisoning us than curing the food industry.

Facts: Government Promote Unhealthy Food

If we look at the Modern American society, we see more people becoming obese, year on year. Diseases are also distressing younger adults and even in some cases affecting children. This applies to illness such as heart disease and diabetes, not to mention cancer. This is the real case scenario despite that people have more awareness on health than ever before.

In economic terms, it makes sense to subsidize unhealthy food. It will bring profit in various ways; first food becomes cheap, secondly people start falling sick and this is followed by a win-gain position for the medical industry.

Some Examples:

In the past FDA had considered walnuts as being an effective drug, but when Diamond food, Inc provided scientific evidence of the benefits of walnuts on their webpage. The company was forced to remove the information from their webpage, and if they didn’t they would be faced with risk of being out of business. At the same time, FDA permitted Frito Lay to post claims that deep fried carbohydrate-laden chips were healthy. In other words, the stronger your lobbyist is the more likely are you to promote your products.

On Life Extension Legislation, we can find some interesting facts on the support of these FDA legislation.

But we always have choice, Dr. Michael Rose suggests that a hunter-gatherer lifestyle can actually end aging. It helps to prevent most health predicaments; cancer, diabetes and heart disease.

At Cardiff University and University of Warwick, researchers came to the conclusion that money can only make people happy if it does increase their social rank. Apparently, having a high pay doesn’t make people happy. In order for someone to consider himself/herself happy, the payout must be more than his work colleagues and friends.

The aim of the study was to understand people in richer countries haven’t become happier over the last 40 years, although economic growth has ensured a general increase in income.

The led author for the study was Chris Boyce from the University of Warwick’s Department of Psychology. He said that the higher an individual’s income is in comparison to peers determines people satisfaction. Yet, the average income or the nominal income amount doesn’t have any noticeable relation to people’s happiness. In the research, it was found that having an income of 1 million a year won’t make you happy if one of your friends earns more.

The research was published in the Journal Psychological Science under the title: “Money and Happiness: Rank of Income, Not Income, Affects Life Satisfaction.” The study involved 3 authors Gordon Brown and Chris Boyce from University of Warwick’s Department of Psychology as well as Simon Moore from Cardiff University.

The study gathered figures to understand the longitudinal pattern of British households; Data on life satisfaction as well as earnings from the British Household Panel Survey (BHPS) for a period of 7 years was used.

One part of the study evaluated the relation of life satisfaction to the amount of income earned. It was found that satisfaction was rather attached to the income position of an individual than compared to age, gender, education levels and/or geographical location of people.

It was concluded that if everyone in society was made richer, it would not help to augment the overall level of happiness – as the issue is not income in itself, it is rather having a higher income than other people that really matters.

On realage.com, there is a tool known as cholesterol assessment that will help you to understand the risk of having high cholesterol. First of all, it should be noted that it is really dangerous as it increases the risk of heart diseases.

People need to know is what leads to high cholesterol and what can be done to reduce the cholesterol levels. Diets have a crucial role in the process of lowering cholesterol levels.

The Five best foods that should be consumed to reduce Cholesterol levels are:

1.	Oatmeal
2.	Omega 3 Fatty Acids – Fish
3.	Walnuts
4.	Oliver Oil
5.	Margarine

- High Fiber Foods like Oat Bran and Oatmeal

In oatmeal, there is soluble fiber, which can easily lower the intensity of low-density lipoprotein {LDL} or so called ‘bad’ cholesterol. It should also be noted that soluble fiber can be found in pears, barley, prunes, beans and kidney beans.

Consuming 10 grams of soluble fiber can significantly reduce the absorption of cholesterol, into an individual’s bloodstream, therefore, lowering LDL cholesterol. The consumption of one and half-cup of cooked oatmeal provides 6 grams of fiber. The consumption of fruits like able will increase the amount of fiber by 4 grams.

-	Omega-3 Fatty Acids – Fish

Fish is known to have a high volume of omega-3 fatty acid, which is good for the heart. It can lower the blood pressure and therefore, decreases the potential risk of having additional blood clots.

For people who have already experienced a heart attack – the consumption of fish oil can lower the potential risk of an instant death.

Doctors do generally recommend consuming two servings of fish per week.
The fish with the highest amount of omega-3 fatty acid is found in:

1.	Mackerel
2.	Lake trout
3.	Herring
4.	Sardines
5.	Albacore tuna
6.	Salmon
7.	Halibut

In addition, while cooking fish people should avoid putting in unhealthy fats. For those who do not like fish can get omega-3 fatty acids from canola and flaxseed oil.

-	Almonds, Walnuts as well as other types of nuts

Nuts help to decrease blood cholesterol. The density of polyunsaturated fatty acids in almonds and walnuts assures that blood vessels are healthy. The Food and Drug administration recommends the consumption of 42.5 grams of nuts per day. This includes all types of nuts, pistachio nuts, hazelnuts, pecans, pine nuts, almonds and walnuts, as they have properties, which decrease the risk of heart diseases.

Yet, the nuts shouldn’t be coated with sugar or salted –

Nuts are also rich in calories so one handful should be enough. Consuming too many nuts can lead to weight gaining.

-	Olive oil

There is strong evidence that olive oil, have special properties, which help to reduce ‘bad’ cholesterol, but it leaves ‘good’ cholesterol.

According to the Food and Drug Administration, two tablespoons of olive oil added to your diet will spur heart-healthy advantageous. It is common to add olive oil to vegetables, marinade, or even diets. For example, while basting meat; olive oil can be used instead of butter. However, do note that olive oil has a high amount of calories so do not consume too much, or else you will gain weight.

The best type of olive oil is the extra-virgin olive oil which is less processed and contains more heart-healthy antioxidants. It also has stronger cholesterol-reduction effects.

-	For Example Margarine – Food with plant sterols/stanols

There some foods that have this substance found in plants sterols and stanols which inhibits the absorption of cholesterols.

For instance, orange juice, margarines and yogurt drinks having added plant sterols can lower LDL cholesterol with above 10 percent. Daily at least 2 grams of plant sterols should be consumed, so a fortified orange juice with plant sterols a day would be an ideal power drink.

Plant sterols as well as stanols do not affect good cholesterol as well as triglycerides.

Lesson learnt
People should change both diet and lifestyle. It is essential to c food with high sources of high-density lipoprotein/ good cholesterol.

Is it true that U.S. President experiences an accelerated aging while occupying the white house?

According to Dr. Michael Roizen, U.S President age twice as fast as typical American men. Roizen is sure about his finding, as a top graduated student in his UC San Francisco Medical School class as well at Harvard Hospital. He has also edited six medical journals and do actually occupy the post as chairmen at the Well Institute at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic.

Most of his calculations are explained on the site he founded together with Dr. Mehmet Oz; RealAge (www.realage.com). ndar year isn’t always tantamount to the annual wear and tear of all human bodies. For example, Dr. Roizen is currently 65 years based on the calendar year. However, RealAge estimates his age to be 43.8 (Dec, 2011)

Roizen applied the same mental models used to estimate his age to that of the 20th century presidents (Including George W. Bush as well as President Obama’s Inauguration). In an interview with ‘CNN’, he said that an individual does in generally age one year in a calendar year. Yet, a president tends to age two years for every single year that they occupy the office.

The fact that presidents are faced with an accelerated aging process was mentioned again in CBS News on Obama’s 50th birthday in August 2011..

Professor S. Jay Olshansky who is a sociologist from the University of Illinois at Chicago’s school of Public Health as well as well-known research from the University of Chicago’s Center of Aging found these publications interesting. Olshansky is currently researching limits of human longevity, in line with policy as well as health consequences.

So Olshansky reviewed the information provided by Roizen and provided a new evaluation of how fast presidents really age in America.

In order to establish an accurate set of date, he found the age of the presidents on the day of inauguration to the office. Then evaluate the aging schedule up to the cause of death. Of course, presidents who were killed were not taking into consideration in the study. On the basis of the age at inauguration to the office, the ‘life tables provided from the Social Security Administration’ was used to estimate the remaining life expectancy of presidents. Example for president, who served the office in the period 1700 as well as 1800s, the French Human Mortality Database was used as no particular records were available for U.S at that time. However, he altered the life expectancy figures for presidents by removing two days of the potential remaining lifespan of the presidents as per every one day spent in the White House.

There were 34 presidents who actually deceased from natural causes. Out of the 34, 23 of the presidents lived longer than the altered life expectancy (alteration accounting for accelerated aging). The average age at death was 67 years base on calculation while, in reality, the average lifespan was 78 years. Yet 11 presidents died earlier than the average life-expectancy of 67.8 years they died at the age of 62.1 years.

The whole study was published in the Journal of the American Medical Associate

Olshansky noted that 60 percent of the U.S presidents lived longer than was expected. In addition, most of the presidents alive today had already or were likely to live beyond the predicted lifespan.

According to Olshansky, there are two particular reasons, which can explain why U.S presidents live longer than their estimated longevity:

1.	To become president, all the men in the study had already lived the most dangerous years of life.

2.	All except 10 presidents have other factors contributing longevity such as wealth, college education and access to quality medical care.

As a conclusion, Orshansky said that the greying of hair and the appearance of wrinkles on the skin of Presidents is simply something that comes with aging. This study suggests that presidents do only appear to age faster as they do not necessary experience a shorter life.

There are legends suggesting that not only one person but several iconic figures in human history have lived beyond a hundred and fifty years. One such legend is the Mr. Li Qing Yun, who was born in 1677 and died in 1933. He was so called herbal expert, tactical consultant, qigong master or simply a Chinese Medicine Physician. According to the belief, he lived during nine emperors of the period of Qing Dynasty and was said to have lived to 256 years.

In the Time Magazine, in May 1933, the secret of why Li was able to live long was explained in an article entitled “Tortoise-Pigeon-Dog”. The key to longevity was defined by four behaviours:

1.	Maintain a quiet heart
2.	Be idle like a tortoise
3.	Move actively like the pigeon
4.	Rest like a Dog

It was believed that Mr. Li has some uncommon habits. He abstained drinking, smoking and had his meals only on particular times. In addition, he was a vegetarian and did often drink wolfberry tea.

In his lifestyle, he did also have a regulated sleeping pattern, sleeping early and waking up early. As when time permitted him, he sat straight with closed eyes and his hands on the lap, motionless for hours.

On free-time, he played cards and lost enough money for his counterpart to buy a meal for the day. He was loved by everyone thanks to his generous behaviour.

As education, Mr. Li devoted his time to scrutinize Chinese herbs to try to reveal the secrets of longevity. It involved travelling to various Provinces in China and going even as far as to Thailand to find herbs to cure illnesses.

Of course, it is still unknown whether Mr. Li really lived as long as claimed. But what we do know about him, is that his finding matches modern research done on herbs supporting longevity.

Modern Research

In 2009, the book “ The Blue Zones” were written by Dan Buettner. The subtitle of the book was: “Lessons for Living Longer from the People, Who’ve Lived The Longest” explored condition which promoted longevity across cultures, populations, geographic location and lifestyles from all over the world.

It included groups such as: Okinawans, Costa Ricans, Sardinians, and the Californian Adventists, who actually have the highest rate of people reaching their 100th birthday. In these areas which Dan Buettner named as “blue zones” people do on average live at least 12 years more than the average.

In the research carried-out by Buettner, there were herbal similarities to all the blue-zone groups, meaning that all blue zones had a diet emphasized on legumes. For example, the Adventists in Loma Linda, California ate a high amount of greens & legumes, as stated in the Bible. The Sardinians ate whole-grain bread, special wine, and cheese produced from fresh grass-fed animals.

As a conclusion, the research suggested that low-calorie diets extend the lifespan of people in these regions. The okinawans, they do strictly follow Confucian rule of only eating until the stomach is 80 percent full.

For Mr Li, the wolfberry tea must have helped him to live to an advanced age. Specialists from France and Britain were extremely fascinated by Li’s longevity and decided to conduct elaborate research on wolfberry. Surprisingly, a new vitamin named “vitamin X” or so called “beauty vitamin” was found. Their study concluded that wolfberry stops the accumulation of fat as well as encourage the development of new liver cells, lower cholesterol and blood glucose… and the list goes on.

Wolfberry has a rejuvenation role: it boosts up endocrine glands and brain cells; improves the production of hormones; eliminate toxins that are formed in the blood, this assures that the body sustains its typical function of tissues and organs.

Meditation

In addition, to consuming tea, an exercise that usually follows is meditation. From the University of Massachusetts Medical School, neuroscientists carried out an experiment on highly stressed technology-related employees. The employees were split into two groups; one of the groups was said to meditate for eight weeks while the second group continued to work in their stress.

In the research published in Psychology 2003 “showed a pronounced shift in activity to the left frontal lobe.” Such change in mental focus reduces the bad effects of stress, anxiety and mild depression. It was also noted that there was a lower activity level in the amygdale, a region where the brain deals with fear.

Apart from only being a stress relief, mediation improves mood and inhibits the speed at which the brain shrinks while aging.

From Buettner’s Blue Zone research, it was found that relaxation time does significantly reduce inflammation, a product of stress. As for the Adventists in California who preserved their 24-hour Sabbath day had a time to pray, reflect and to have fun within their social circles.

Longevity & Society

According to Buettner’s research, the society in which you live in does influence how long you live. For instance, Okinawans have many friends and with whom they like to share everything with. The Sardinian show great respect to elders and the Adventists are highly family oritented.

The study suggests that sense of belonging with family and healthy friends encouraging people to live healthy, actually support longevity.

The so Rosetans, which is an Italian group of people who has migrated to Bangor, Pennsylvania, has a low risk of heart diseases. This was found in a study carried out by Malcolm. Apparently, it was neither their diet nor gene that supported their remarkable healthy survival rate.

The secret of the Rosetans potential to live longer was the social structure that isolates them from the stress of the modern world. The environment and surrounding that they had created supported their health.

Buettner’s study also found that across the blue-zone, people weren’t interested in retirement. Their emphasis was on continuing to do what they were already doing.

For the Sardinians as well as Okinwans the sunset years represent the symbol of purpose of life. In these areas, centenarians were seen climbing hills and climbing. Contrary, to the western civilisation who exercise for a purpose, these centenarians simply have an active life.

Well known dieticians such as Kerri-Ann Jennings, M.S., R.D., who is the associate Nutrition Editor from the EatingWell Magazine says that herbs and species don’t only add taste to food. In healthy diets, people should reduce sugars, slats and saturated food, but why not add up some spicy & health herbs.

Slowly progress in science research is finding the real benefits of spices and herbs. Apparently, herbs seem to be a strong protective attribute to various alarming diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease and cancer. Professor Bharat Aggarwal, Ph.D., from the University of Texas M.D says that modern science is finally being able to shed light on the reason why people have been using species and herbs for medication for millenniums.

In Aggrawal’s home-country India, there is a low risk of heart disease and cancer. This is associated with their extensive use of spices in various food menus. However, most of the Indians who have moved to a westernized eating pattern have experienced a higher incidence of these very same diseases. Apparently, when people eat less spicy food, they are deprived from the protective attributes provided by the herbs and spices. In other words, this explains why the Indian, who has adopted a westernized diet (defined as being fattier and meatier) is more prone to diseases.

The 8 healthiest herbs and Spices

1.	Chile Peppers – Boost Metabolism

Research has shown that the wanted heat of chilly tend to enhance our metabolism. Components known as capsaicin, chipotle and cayenne provide this fresh aspect of papers. Various research shows that capsaicin actually help the body to burn up calories (boost the metabolic rate). This equally helps the brain to stimulate chemicals to make us less hungry. A recent study found that people who ate hot spicy pepper tomato juice consumed 16 percent less calories. The second compound known as capsinoids, present in milder chile and also in sweet paprika reduces the risk of ulcers. It induces enhanced ability to the cells in the stomach to tackle infections and bacteria. It equally helps the heart to stay tuned by preventing LDL cholesterol from being converted into artery-clogging forms.

2.	Ginger – Help To reveal Upset Stomach / Fight Arthritis

Ginger has since long been observed as a relief to the stomach problem. Yet, Ginger does much more; it helps to reduce nausea and to heal our body after chemotherapy or surgery. A component full of inflammation-fighting properties like gingerols does even reduce the risk of cancer aches of osteoarthritis.

In a study, it was found that if people consumed ginger capsules for 11 days, they experienced 25 percent less muscle pain, after doing exercise.

3.	Cinnamon – Regulates Blood Sugar

Several studies have shown that adding only one to two teaspoons of cinnamon a day reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes. It helps the body to regulate blood sugar.

4.	Turmeric – Inhibit Tumors and Inflammation

Tumeric is used in India as a source to heal wounds. It is commonly used as a paste, tea to alleviate respiratory problems as well as colds. Modern science confirms that turmeric, with its compound curcumin is a proven antioxidant which has several anti-inflammatory abilities. Curcumin is used to relieve pain of injuries, arthritis as well as in dental procedures.

Turmeric, the goldenrod-colored spice, is used in India to help wounds heal (it’s applied as a paste); it’s also made into a tea to relieve colds and respiratory problems. Modern medicine confirms some solid-gold health benefits as well; most are associated with curcumin, a compound in turmeric that has potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Professor Bharat also mentioned that it contains anti-carcinogens properties.

5.	Saffron – Mood Elevator

In traditional Persian Medicine, Saffron was commonly used as a mood lifter, by adding it into tea. A study from Rooxbeh Psychiatric Hospital at Tehran University of Medical Science revealed that saffron help to relieve depression as well as premenstrual syndrome (PMS). In the research, 75 percent of the women who suffered from PMS, experienced a fifty percent improvement in the management of their mood swings and depression after taking saffron.

6. Parsley – Prevents Breast Cancer Cells to grow

A few scientists from University of Missouri found that parsley prevents breast cancer-cell growth. This was found in an animal study where, they were given apigenin (a compound of Parsley) experienced an increase resistance against cancerous tumors.

7. Saga – Treats Sore Throat and Preserve Memory

It is recommended to sip saga tea to treat sore throat and an upset stomach. Other new studies suggested that saga even helped to prevent Alzhiemer’s disease by protecting acetylcholine, which is an important chemical in the brain promoting learning and memory. This was supported by a second study, where it was found that student taking capsule of saga extracts outperformed those who didn’t take in memory test and had an enhanced mood.

8. Rosemary – Improve Mental Focus & fight Bacteria

It was found in a recent study that people who had aromatic rosemary oil in their study room experienced enhanced score on alertness and memory tests. Commonly, rosemary is used to marinade poultry and meats. This herb improves the healthiness of the food being cooked. For instance, in a study released by Kansas State University in March 2010 found that adding rosemary in-ground beef reduced the potential development of heterocyclic amines (HCSs)- which is a cancer-inducing compound found in fried.

There is a group of researchers suggesting that people can live beyond the age of 150 years. This is something that has not been realized other than in tales from the Old Testament.

The highest recorded longevity is for a woman who died in France at the significant advance age of 122 years old.

The author of 100 Plus, Sonia Arrison believes that the first person to live to the age of 150 years might already be living today.

According to Arrison, not everyone will have the chance to live to 150 years but certainly some people will be able to so. Technology is major supporting technology allow people to live healthier for a longer time.

There are increasing breakthroughs in the realm of anti-aging such as new drugs as well as genetic therapy that help people to live longer but also healthier. It is even believed that spare or replacement parts can soon be grown in laboratories.

According to Arrison, new technology will definitely help us to live longer, and even to engineer our tissues. With the possibility to generate new human organ through the use of adult stem cell are providing a promising confirmation for longer lifespan. For instance, bladders and tracheas have already been created in laboratories.

In June 2011, a cancer patient in Stockholm (Sweden) was given an artificial trachea.

Arrison is positive and think that doctors will soon be able to alter the DNA sequence, so as to slow down our aging process. Hacking the human body is very similar to hacking any computer system. For instance, gene therapy is a field where scientists are hacking the human body to be able to tweak and improve the code.

However, everyone isn’t so positive about longevity prolongation. For example, Dr. Thomas Rando who is a Professor of Neurology at Stanford University as well as aging experts says that there will be an increasing number of centenarians in the years ahead. There will even be people living to 110 and 120 years but going as far as 150 years isn’t a likely near possibility.

According to the professor, life expectancy will only increase at the same pace as it has done for the last thousand years. But there is also a high risk of seeing falling average life expectancy with the obesity epidemic.

There are even some scientists who predict that middle-aged adults today are even likely to live a shorter lifespan in comparison to their parents.

Recent research on yeast, seem to be revealing intriguing information on how to look young for several to come.

A group of researchers from National Taiwan University & Johns Hopkins have managed to alter the lifespan of typical single-celled yeast organisms. This was achieved by comprehending how to restore and remove protein associated with the aging of yeast.

The biologist found that whenever the age-related enzyme variant was removed the lifespan of the organism was significantly reduced. However, restoring the same protein led to a radical extension to the lifespan.

Jef Boeke, Director of the Hit Center & Technology Center for Network & Pathways, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine said for yeast, the study unveiled that a particular molecular component associated to the aging pathway appeared similar to the pathway that regulates the lifespan and longevity of humans.

According to Boeke, this is the first research that found a particular bio-chemical pathway of youth and aging, which is totally unrelated to diets.

Boeke says that a particular chemical type called acetylation forming part of the acetyl group of molecules goes on and off. It is similar to another enzyme Sip2, which works in the same way as decoration. It goes on and off.

Besides, acetylation is a necessary protein to enable organisms as well as systems to better and faster adapt to environments.

The researchers found that acetylation of the enzyme Sip2 influenced longevity in a particular way. It dictated how frequently the yeast cell could divide thus influencing the replicative life span.

In general, the replicative lifespan of yeast is 25 years. However, when the yeast was genetically modified to be able to restore the chemical alteration the lifespan of the yeast increased to 38, which is a rise of approximately 50 percent.

The scientists did manipulate the lifespan of the yeast by mutating various chemical residues, to create a similar effect to the acetylated and de-acetylated type of the enzyme Sip2.

This study was published in the Cell, September, 16. According to Jin-Ying Lu, M.D., PH.D., from National Taiwain University, the next step is now to test whether the same is true for other mammalian cells.

Modern communities have during the recent years experienced heightening incidences of insomnia, auto-immune conditions, chronic diseases and allergies. There are rising belief amidst scientists that the immune functioning of our body is depended on our exposure to earth’s energy.

Our immune system has been evolving for millions of years. We started walking barefoot having immediate contact to the earth. However, in contemporary society, there are no one who walk barefoot. People use shoes and that separate us from the earth’s energy.

The concept known as ‘earthing’ is one of the safest anti-aging cures. It doesn’t use any sort of technology. The concept is about having the human body to touch the surface of the earth. In such a way that electrons are transmitted from the earth to the body.

The ground can absorb and eliminates electrical charges, as it is a conductive object. In other words, unwanted or excess electrical charges can be drained to the earth.

A recent study, which started some 10 years ago, shows that it is important to earth the human body. It plays a fundamental role in improving functioning, reducing inflammation and prevents bad physiological processes. Earthing produces a positive change in the state of electrical currents inducing a self-regulating and self-healing taxonomy.

What is known?

1.	Earthing permit electrons to be transferred to the body
2.	Inflammation are produced from free Radicals
3.	Electrons can neutralize free radicals (irrespective of the source of the electrons)
4.	Electrons constitute antioxidants power to neutralize.

Electron deficiency can cause pain, inflammation and sickness. Studies show that earth’s ground might be one of the best natural anti-inflammatory and antioxidants available.

Earthing?

Earthing is a simple process of simply walking barefoot or even working, sleeping or sitting on the ground. In contrary to our typical modern lifestyle which is disconnected from the earth, we are separated from the earth, as we rarely touch the ground. If it is our socks, it is our sandals or shoes.

Those who have incorporated earthing into their daily routine life has reported the following benefits:

1.	Improved Blood pressure
2.	Less headache – Stress – muscle tension
3.	Better sleep
4.	More energy
5.	Less inflammation (inflammation is the cause of several chronic illnesses)
6.	Reduces menstrual and hormonal symptoms
7.	Promote better respiratory, immune, digestive and cardiovascular system

Earthing is something very simple and is good for various human physiologies. This is a revolutionary approach that brings us back to our adjustable evolution.

Do earthing whether you are sick or well, you can take a swim in the ocean or simply walk around. It is naturally good for your health. Note that we all benefits, but the result might vary from one individual to another. There are those who benefit immediately, other gradually.
