			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Recently, a research team from America has highlighted their remarkable findings. They say that they might have found the ultimate pill that will extend human lifespan. However, clinical trials haven’t yet been initiated on humans. </p>
<p>Drugs seem to be the upcoming cure for aging. The drug will protect our telomeres, which is an essential part of our DNA, protecting us from harmful effects of aging. Nevertheless, the drug isn’t yet certified as safe for humans. Test will probably be performed on animals such as cats and dogs, by introducing them into pet food before bringing it on humans. </p>

<p>It has since long been considered that aging is associated with an enzyme known as telomeres. This enzyme can reverse the process of aging itself. Over our lifespan, our telomeres shorten and this triggers the aging process.</p>
<p>The ‘<a href="http://www.immortalhumans.com/bill-andrews%E2%80%99s-aim-is-to-become-immortal-part-1/">American research team led by Andrews’ b</a>elieves that a solution has been found to reverse aging. In their opinion, they might have found the secret to unlock extreme longevity. </p>
<p>They have combined nearly 40 different substances to create an imitation of the enzyme. So possibly with this new ‘magical pill’, it might be possible to induce cells to generate telomerase. This would be a magical medical advancement if found effective. </p>
<p>According to the team, the substances can surely induce telomerase however, it will still take several years until such ‘drugs’ will be approved for human usage.</p>
<p>Fortunately, for pets, the regulations are less stringent. So, the drugs might enter the pet markets and bring more solid signs of success. </p>

<p>Both normal and maximum life expectancy of the Drosophila (fruit fly) species was significantly prolonged during a massive experiment on Stem Cell 100TM. Six cages of fruit flies were involved in the research, of which Cages T1 to T3 were treated with Stem Cell 100TM and with Cages, C1 to C3 acting as untreated controls. Five hundred fruit flies (250 males and 250 females) were released into each enclosure at the beginning of the experiment. The end results proved that the product had “more than doubled” the average life expectancy of the Drosophila species with a 123 percent boost.</p>
<p>Indirectly, the study predicted the product’s ability to increase the median lifespan of mankind to 167 years. Fruit flies were used in this laboratory test due to the similarities they share with humans – a cardiovascular system with cardiac arrest being their leading cause of death, and a difficult-to-expand life expectancy. The findings surpass all other anti-aging therapies that have been previously assessed, which include genes alterations and diet control.</p>
<p>The fruit flies that were treated with the Stem Cell 100TM had a boast in their maximum life expectancy with 89 days, whereas the untreated controls only managed to live to a maximum of 48 days. The outcome showed an 85 percent raise in the maximum lift expectancy of fruit flies, which is the same as a person extending his life to 191 years. It is true that other possibilities may have caused the sole longest living Drosophila to survive longer, for example genetic mutation. However, the scenario was not abnormal, because several other fruit flies had managed to live nearly the same number of days. The eldest of the treated Drosophila, which constituted 5 percent of the entire group, had a 77 percent longer life than the eldest 5 percent of the untreated controls.</p>
<p>In addition, the research also demonstrated an enhancement in the capability of the Drosophila species to endure anxiety and disease at all life stages. The early days of the research had already depicted an obvious increase in the number of treated fruit flies that managed to live to adulthood as compared to the untreated controls.</p>
<p>Stem Cell 100¬TM and its four patent-pending herbal components</p>
<p>Stem Cell 100TM consists of elements from four important natural herbs that are commonly extracted for their active ingredients that regenerate adult stem cells and reduce inflammatory response –  Astragalus membranaceus, Pterocarpus marsupium (Indian Kino tree), Pine Bark and Camellia sinesis. <p>Pine Bark extracts contain Flavonoids and oligo-proanthocyanidins (OPCs), which can prevent reactive oxygen species imbalance, and lower DNA damage and inflammatory response. Camellia sinesis, which is the last of four herbs mentioned, contains a natural amino acid named L-Theanine that promotes stress and inflammation reduction, and at the same time, enhance the human learning abilities while preventing ischemic or toxic brain injury.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In our young days, the benefit of eating fruits and vegetables is a tale told by many mothers. Candies are the worse things that children can consume. This has been known for years, but it is only recently that a study conducted at Vanderbilt University  in Nashville, Tennessee, confirms the mother was always right. </p>
<p>Our mother has always tried to increase our longevity, at least, when speaking about parents who are encouraging their children to consume vegetables and fruits. </p>
<p>It is certain that, longevity is still something subject to variation based on different determinants, and vegetables are amidst one of the factors. Our lifespan is increased in several ways when vegetables are consumed; it forms part of a healthy diet and lifestyle. </p>
<p>A research of the study, Dr. Xianglan Zhang, said that consuming fruits and vegetables help us to live longer, as it improves our cardiovascular health. </p>
<p>There are some vegetables that are more powerful than others, for example, plants coming from the mustard family, like cauliflower and broccoli.. These vegetables are concentrated with glucosinolates, Fibre and vitamin C. </p>
<p>The study involved roughly 135,000 participants coming from the large city of Shanghai in China. The adults involved in the study reported their eating habits together with their health history. The participants were thereafter classified into 5 different categories.. </p>
<p>After five years of constant follow-up, 4 % of the total participants had deceased. It was found that those who consumed more vegetables and fruits had a 15 percent lower risk of dying when comparing too people who ate less fruits and vegetables. </p>
<p>The key fact in the study was that, people who consumed mustard family vegetables had a significantly lower risk of dying. </p>
<p>A special pattern was also identified for people who tended to die from heart disease. It was also concluded that vegetables and fruit consumption did not have any association with the risk of cancer. </p>
<p>According to Dr. Lydia Bazzano from Tulana University of Health Sciences in New Orleans, this study contains promising results. Yet, the research does not provide conclusive results that confirm that vegetables and fruits prolong our lifespan. </p>
<p>Unfortunately, the study did not consider other factors such as weight, age, exercise, smoking and vitamins consumed. These are some of the other factors that determine human longevity. </p>
<p>The underling advice provided by the study is that people should increase their consumption of mustard family plants.  </p>
<p>Nowadays, above 600,000 deaths in the U.S are caused by heart diseases. The consumption of two to four cups a day can drastically reduce the risk of such disease according to the CDC. </p>
<p>Some of the direct and known benefits of diets which are rich in vegetables and fruits are decrease risk of stroke, heart attack, cancer, as well as lower blood pressure, less risk of digestive and eye problems. </p>

In ancient Greece the oil was considered as sacred, according to Greeks the branch of olive tree represented peace in the Hellenic society. The oil was for the first time discovered in 1901 at &#8220;Room of the Olive Press&#8221; which is found on the Island of Crete, knossos in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. Olives from such areas were extracted into oil since 4,500 years ago. This olive oil was also exported to Greece and North Africa. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Drink tea for a longer life.  It’s one of the statements supported by nutritionist Leslie Beck in her book “Longevity Diet”, one of the most recent of 10 she’s published on nutrition.  Tea, according to her, is one of the 25 “longevity” foods.</p>
<p>There are a lot of evidence, Beck states, that tea (which comes from the plant “Camella sinensis”) contains extremely abundant phytochemicals called catechins, which are flavonoids with powerful antioxidant properties.</p>
<p>According to her, In the North American diet, one of the best sources for antioxidants is tea – it is known to be better than vegetables and fruits (but they have a lot of health benefits all on their own).  For instance, some interesting facts concerning the amount of antioxidant content: Two cups of black tea, one glass of red wine, seven glasses of orange juice and 20 glasses of apple. And likewise, the catechins found in tea are more potent than that of vitamins C and E.</p>
<p>What’s more, green tea has been the first food recognized by Health Canada for its antioxidant properties, claimed by the Tea Association of Canada.</p>
<p>Beck mentioned a few examples of research supporting the benefits of tea-drinking:  61,057 Swedish women ranging from 40-76 years old, participated in a 15-year research, drinking two cups of tea daily in  comparison with less than a cup each month, was linked to a 46% lesser chance of developing ovarian cancer.  Also, a number of similar studies confirmed that green tea gives protection against breast cancer.  Meanwhile, another research claimed green tea helped lower the risk of hypertension of about 46% participants who drank less than half a cup up to as much as over two cups a day.</p>
<p>With all the healthy benefits attached to drinking tea, why is Vancouver not brimming with tea shops?  Why are we such a coffee-dominated society?  That was a question addressed to Garett Chan, who owns a retail and wholesale tea company based in Vancouver, called T.   After 17 years of business, the retail shop will be closing at the end of the month when its lease expires.  There is no information yet whether they will reopen in Vancouver or in another location.</p>
<p>However, T. has grown to dominate the distribution of high-quality teas in most luxury hotel groups worldwide (except for 3)  and 99% of the business sales cater to international clients.</p>
<p>Chan explains that creating a culture of tea-drinking is a little difficult to achieve because of the market.  Coffee shops thrive since they have to take out options and charge a high price for their coffees.  Meanwhile, Tea is acknowledged as Zen.  It doesn’t mesh well with the hustle and bustle of our society, so it will be difficult to change that way of thinking. </p>

Scientists suggest that poor lifestyle and dietary choices are responsible for most individual health hazards. Brain aging can apparently be prevented to a certain degree by increasing the intake of organic and raw diets. In addition, fruits and vegetables that are purple contain key components. </p>
<p>A recent study available online on Eurekalert (University of Manchester) entitled:”<a href=" http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2010-12/uom-soa120710.php">See off Alzheimer&#8217;s with the color purple” explains how purple fruits are helpful to</a> our brain.  </p>
<p>In the study, originally published in the Journal of Archives of Toxicology examined the effect of excess iron in the blood. It is known that a surplus of iron in our blood is associated to heart attack and heart disease. The new study suggested that the metal (iron) has a link with impoverished brain health. It was found that unbound iron tended to go beyond blood-brain barriers where they introduced free radical damage, which gave rise to toxins referred to as hydroxyl radicals. </p>
<p><strong>Green Tea and Purple Berries the Combination to combat excess Iron (Iron Chelators)</strong><br />
In order to protect yourself against damaging effects caused by too much iron. It is necessary to consume nutrients called iron chelators. The consumption of purple fruits and vegetables contains a special compound that directly neutralizes the negative effect that excess iron imposes on our brain. Green tea, acai berries and blueberries are considered as excellent food for full brain protection.</p>
<p>The research also claimed that it is essential to reduce the intake of red meat, which is a source of unbound iron. The iron that is derived from red meat is mostly unbound and spreads freely in the blood. On the other hand, vegetarians are better off. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Sirtris, a pharmaceutical company announced a pause in the clinical trials for resveratrol. It is a compound found in red wine. Researchers claim that reservertrol might hold the secret to longer life. </p>
<p>The company’s attempt to halt the research on resveratrol suggests that the compound might not be as beneficial as suggested. </p>
<p>In 2008, GlaxoSmithKline took over Sirtris for $720 million. According to Sirtris’s Chief executive George Vlasuk, SRT501 (the company’s formulation of resveratrol) is an important substance but wasn’t the main focus for the merger. He said that there are many attributes of resveratrol which makes it unsuitable as a drug. One of the factors is that the compound is too complex to sustain a high volume of resveratrol in our blood. In addition, different doses seem to have diverse effects. </p>
<p>Dr. Vlasuk said that resveratrol is believed to increase the expression of SIRT1. However, it has been seen at some doses of the compound seem to stop the release of the protein SIRT1. Besides, from a commercial perspective, resveratrol is a natural compound and can’t be given a patent. </p>
<p>Glaxo merged with Sirtris to facilitate their entrance into a new research field. It is believed that SIRT1 prolongs the life of mice being fed on specific calorie diets. Scientists are expecting or at least hoping that the activation of SIRT1 in human will have the same benefits. </p>
<p>Three clinical trials have been completed on synthetic resveratrol-mimicking drugs. Sirtris will make the result public next year. The drug does work fairly well. It activates only SIRT1 in comparison to resvertrol which influence other processes of the cell. Dr. Vlasuk says that the development of more accurate drugs targeting SIRT1 reduces the pertinence of resveratrol.  </p>
<p>However, David Sinclair as well as Christoph Westphal who are the co-founder of Sirtris are still confident that resveratrol is an important compound. Dr. Sinclair is a researcher at the Harvard Medical School, and he says that unpublished research on rhesus monkeys is proving resveratrol to be a powerful molecule for longevity. </p>
<p>According to Dr. Westphal, resveratrol as well as the drug developed by Sirtris that copies the compound&#8217;s effects on SIRT1 have demonstrated positive results on both human and animal studies. </p>
<p>Dr. Rafael de Cabo from the National Institute on Aging has conducted research trials on rhesus monkeys. The result revealed parallel conclusion to those conducted by Dr. Sinclair on mice. It was demonstrated that resveratrol could prolong the life of obese mice consuming a high-fat diet, but apparently not for typical mice. Normal mice did, nonetheless, show signs of improved heart function as well as reduced bone loss (in the experiment). Dr. De Cabo was unwilling to discuss any preliminary information concerning longevity of the rhesus monkeys as their normal lifespan is 40 years, and it will take several years to evaluate the longevity effects that resveratrol has on them. </p>
<p>Resveratrol is a very interesting but complex molecule. The current potential of the compound is still ‘to be discovered’ said Dr. De Cabo. However, he claims that more research is rudimentary for any conclusion on the effectiveness of resveratrol.</p>

Most studies on cancer suggest that phytonutrients together with other particular substances in plant-based foods helps to decrease the risk of cancer. Richard Béliveau, PhD, chair of the prevention and treatment of cancer at the University of Québec at Montreal as well as the author of Foods to Fight Cancer gives vegetables and fruits thumbs up for cancer prevention. </p>
<p>Six superstars when it comes to preventing cancer are broccoli, berries, tomatoes, Walnuts, Garlic and Beans.</p>
<p><strong>1. Broccoli </strong></p>

However, broccoli is the only cruciferous veggie that has considerable volume of sulforaphane. It is a substance which increases the human body’s protective enzymes. <p><strong>2. Berries</strong></p>
<p>Berries have a dense presence of cancer-fighting phytonutrients and antioxidants. However, in black raspberries there is a higher concentration of phychemicals known as anthocyanins. Gary D. Stoner, PhD, a professor of internal medicine at the Ohio State University College of Medicine says that it is a compound that prevents the expansion of premalignant cells from growing in our blood vessels. </p>
<p>Berries help to prevent colon, oral, skin and esopageal cancers. Half of a cup of berries per day is sufficient to achieve the best health benefits. </p>
<p><strong>3. Tomatoes</strong></p>
<p>Lycopene is an important dietary source and carotenoid which give tomatoes their red colour. Béliveau says that lycopene has according to a study in Nutrition and Cancer stopped endometrial cancer cell from proliferating. Annually, 8,000 deaths are caused by endometrial cancer.</p>
<p>Tomatoes help to fight prostate, lung, stomach and endometrial cancers. Cooked tomatoes provide the best lycopene. A good source is a pasta source as the body can easily absorb it. </p>
<p><strong>4. Walnuts</strong></p>
<p>Walnuts have phytosterols, which have proven to inhibit estrogen receptors in breast cancer cells. Elaine Hardman, PhD, who is an associate professor at Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia, says that walnuts gradually decrease the speed at which cancerous cells may expand.</p>
<p>Walnuts effective enhance one&#8217;s protection against prostate and breast cancer.  Hardman says that an ounce of walnuts per day is enough to reap maximum benefits. </p>
<p><strong>5. Garlic</strong></p>
<p>Phytochemicals present in garlic stops the development of nitrosamines and carcinogens to be formed in our stomach as well as intestines. Béliveau says that consuming nitrates, a typical food preservative causes this effect. Lowa Women’s Health Study demonstrated that those who consumed more garlic were 50 percent less likely to develop colon cancers in comparison to women who didn’t consume much garlic. </p>
<p>Garlic helps to fight stomach, esophageal, breast and colon cancers. A convenient way to fight these cancers would be to consume garlic. Crushed garlic in lycopene-concentrated tomato sauce would effectively help to boost once defence mechanisms against the above mentioned cancers. </p>
<p><strong>6. Beans</strong></p>
<p>A research conducted by Michigan State University demonstrated that navy and black beans demonstrated a radical fall in colon cancer amidst rats. This was mainly because diets rich in various legumes help to increase the volume of fatty acid butyrate. When this fatty acid is concentrated it prevents cancer growth. A similar study published in the Journal Crop Science demonstrated that dried beans helped to stop breast cancer in rats. </p>
<p>Beans can thus help to prevent colon and breast cancers. Consuming half a cup of such legumes occasionally during a week will produce effective results. </p>
