Calories Restriction – Longer Life!

Calories Restriction – Longer Life!

Modern day man has become too engrossed in his busy life often neglecting to care about his own health. New studies are conducted on a daily basis, so that new facts are explored. A simple method to ensure longer lives has been found in a recent study conducted at Washington University.

This study has compared two groups of people. Both, with differences in the amount of calories they take in. The research has proven that people who take in lesser calories and follow a strict diet regimen are prone to have a longer and fuller life than those who indulge in higher intake of calories.

The credibility to this hypothesis is lent by the fact that fewer calories reduce the core body temperature. The research was conducted on a group of people aged in their mid 50s. There were 24 people in a control group and rest 24 formed a test group. Those who were controlled were following a restricted and low calorie diet for the past 6 years, whereas others were on regular high calorie diet.

It was found that people on lower calorie diet had decreased core body temperatures. Though at a minimal level of 0.2 degrees Celsius, this reduction is still significant when compared on statistical terms. Earlier experiments on mice had proven the same. These men were compared to athletes and their endurance levels, and it was found that they were even better than athletes in terms of reduction of core body temperatures.

It is still a mystery as to what would be the life span of a man with a restricted diet but its believed that it will bring our longevity to 100 years and above.

However, Dr. Luigi Fontana chooses to differ, believing that prolongation of lifespan is not an effect of this simple diet restriction. A combination of regimes of exercises, dietary modifications and an enriched diet can make the trick but not only calorie restriction.

Thus, have a healthy balanced meal to have an enriching, healthier life!
