Best Practices to Reduce Mortality

There is a handful of lethal killers; however, cardiovascular disease and cancer are the most fatal ones. Extensive research has been carried out by health and research institutions to find solutions to reduce mortality. Based on research, Dr. Alvin Lin has come up with some best practices that might reduce the risk of a premature death.

A list of longevity suggestions has been provided below:

1. Aspirin – Studies has shown that aspirin is essential for people who suffer from heart disease. It can reduce their mortality risk from heart disease by 13 percent. However, it does augment the possibility of gastrointestinal bleeding by twice as much.

2. Blood Pressure – High blood pressure is highly associated with mortality by virtue of its negative effect on the body. Therefore, having a low blood pressure assures a higher chance of living longer. “Tea” and other antioxidant reduce blood pressure and can therefore support you to achieve it.

3. Body Mass Index – It is fundamental to have normal body mass. A BMI of 25 (for men) is the ideal for longevity. If you have a BMI either above or below the normal, the risk of mortality will increase.

4. Cardio-respiratory fitness – Smoking isn’t really good. However, as long as your BMI, the circumference of your “waist” appropriate and you are fit your longevity prospects are still high.

5. “Diet” – People are expected to eat r vegetables and fruits to be healthy. The typical western diet which is usually composed of red meat, French fries, processed meats, dessert and white flour is death probing. The “Mediterranean diet” has proven to increase longevity. However, it is necessary that the level of alcohol consumed is also within controlled limits. It is also precluded that “cheese and wine” can be beneficial for decreasing mortality..

6. Exercise
Regular exercise for only 20 to 30 minutes, trice per week is sufficient to make a substantial different to your well-being. It is also true that exercise, can counteract on cancer, as muscles are used frequently. This avoids abnormal formations or degradation of cells.

7. Fish Oil “Omega 3” is of great essence to assure overall well being. A decrease in that serum can increase the risk of death significantly.

8. Glucose - The level of blood sugar seems to highly influence mortality rate. For instance, a study showed that every 1 percent increase above 5 percent of HgbA1C could elevate the death risk by as much as 28 percent.

9. Vitamin D – It is recommended to be exposed to a high amount of vitamin D. It can decrease all causes of mortality. However, in the recent years increase use of sunscreen have given people a disadvantage. The cream does usually prevent the body to collate vitamin D from the sun. People can therefore, become susceptible to vitamin D deficiency.

10. Tobacco – Smoking is harmful to your overall body. It is common that non-smokers outlive smokers. Cigarettes can decrease your lifespan by around 5 to 10 years. However, exceptions do exist as for the French woman who lived to 122 years and stopped smoking only at the age of 100..

In the early 90s, the top list of killers was listed as; poor diet, over consumption of alcohol, tobacco, illicit drugs, toxic agent, microbial agent and accidents.
