Aging Is Easy, Exercising While You Age, Not So Much

Exercise will not make you look any younger, let us be clear about that straight away. However, it is great for keeping you at peak fitness levels and aids in your general immunity and personal well being. There really are no rules as to what type of exercise you can or should do, as you get older – provided you are healthy enough and physician monitored. If you look old and out of shape you can do something about that. Exercising for anti aging and longevity should be your objective.

They look healthier and stronger muscularity allows them to be more active in their aging bodies. Their mobility is improved and this will mean future independence in their advanced years. They will tell you they do not get sick as much as they used to and will probably add that they wish they had begun to exercise when they were younger to have a head start on their aging health.

Not getting any exercise and eating unhealthy foods is a primary cause of untimely aging. Unhealthy lifestyle choices will place you squarely behind the eight ball as far as getting seriously ill, as you get older. When you exercise, for as little as twenty minutes a day, you will feel better and perhaps it will aid you to drop some of those unhealthy choices like smoking, excessive drinking and junk food.

Inactivity at any age is not good but as you age, it takes a greater toll. You will display poor posture, muscles will shrink and even atrophy. You will experience muscle and joint pain much more and the longer you wait to start an exercise program, the less likely you are to do it and your decline will be quick.

Start by exercising for only ten minutes a day and you will begin to slow the pace of aging and reduce the chance of hypertension and other conditions. Once you begin to feel better, you can increase your routine to fifteen minutes a day. This could be walking around your neighborhood or just exercising on the floor at home. You need to get moving so do what you want to do as long as it works your muscles and cardio. Exercise in certain cases could reverse your current illnesses. Something as simple as mowing the lawn, doing gardening or even housecleaning can give you a fine little workout.

Getting in a small workout each day will make your skin look healthier and give you a glow. Carrying around extra weight is a sure way to die younger than expected so exercising will help you lose those extra pounds. We all gain weight as we age and it is difficult to drop a few as you get older. You need to watch your diet and eat healthier food in smaller quantities, combined with your exercise routine, your health is going to improve, and you will begin to look better.

Once you begin to exercise regularly, it is vital to remain consistent. No excuse is good enough to keep you from your daily routine. In order for n exercise regimen to be effective, you must keep at it. If you have a difficult time motivating yourself to exercise, think about your family and seeing your children and grandchildren grow up. If your desire is to live a long and healthy life, you will need to commit to a program of exercise with a balanced diet along with it.

Exercise is definitely going to assist you in living a longer and healthier life, perhaps aiding in avoiding the horrible illnesses many experience as they age. You must find an exercise regimen that you can maintain and do religiously. If this means joining others in a group than do it. If you need to join a gym than do it. Start walking, swimming, bike riding, or doing your Jane Fonda tapes from the eighties but do something that will keep you healthy as you age.
